With the year drawing to a conclusion and things looking fresh for a new beginning, we pause to take a look at some of the best players of 2020 in this list. Starting with…

5. Mike Maignan

The shotstopper is the main reason behind Lille’s success this season, especially with the fact that they find themselves a point ahead of the current Champions elect, AC Milan.

4. Memphis Depay

Amidst heavy rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona, the Dutchman clearly wanted to reunite with his former international coach and seems on the verge of getting it.

3. Wissam Ben Yedder

The Monaco striker is one of the best in his position across the league. The French forward already has seven goals and four assists this season, as he has partnered Kevin Volland upfront for Monaco.

2. Neymar

The Brazilian spent a spell on the sidelines but still managed to show how important he is to the team. Though they won the league last season, Paris need to stop being complacent if they are to win any further.

1. Kylian Mbappe

At 22, the Frenchman has almost seen it all, with few trophies beyond his reach at Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe has been a class apart from the rest of the league and caps off our list of the five best players of Ligue 1 in 2020.
