Brazil is the most successful country in terms of the World Cup, winning the tournament five times. They are also the only country to have qualified for every edition of the World Cup. With a number of exciting new talents coming up, they are one of the top contenders to try and lift the trophy for a sixth time later this year in Qatar.

In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the top five goalscorers of all-time in Brazil’s history.

Top 5 goalscorers of all-time in Brazil’s history

5. Zico – 48 goals

He currently works as an advisor for Japanese club Kashima Antlers. But, during his playing days, he was one of the top goalscorers to ever come out of the country. In only 71 caps for the team, Zico scored 48 goals.

4. Romario – 55 goals

Romario’s goals to games ratio is exceptional, to say the least. He scored 55 goals in only 71 games for the team, the same as Zico. He won two Copa America trophies and finished as the Golden Ball winner in the 1994 World Cup, which Brazil also won.

3. Ronaldo – 62 goals

Il Fenomeno won two World Cup trophies with Brazil, and won two Ballon d’Or awards as well. R9 remains one of the best strikers to have ever laced up a pair of boots, with 62 goals during his national team career.

2. Neymar – 74 goals

The PSG winger has surpassed Ronaldo, and is on his way to becoming Brazil’s all-time top scorer. Moreover, the 2022 edition might be the last time we see Neymar play a World Cup.

1. Pele – 77 goals

For many years, Pele was the footballer with the most goals of all-time. And for the time being, he remains the leading goalscorer for his country with 77 goals to his name. Pele is also the youngest player to win the World Cup, and the only one to win it thrice.
