1. Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM)
This app is a Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and was developed by the National Payments Corporation of India. Named after Bhim Rao Ambedkar. It is intended to facilitate e-payments directly through banks and as part of the 2016 Indian De-Monetization and drive towards cashless transactions.
Allows instant money transfer between two bank accounts using mobile numbers (UPI Address) and the best feature is that the app can function without the Internet with a transfer limit of upto ₹ 10,000.
2. My-Gov
It is a citizen engagement platform founded by the Government of India to promote active participation of Indian citizens in country’s governance and development. It aims at crowd sourcing governance ideas from the citizens.
One can discuss & contribute to various government projects and plans. Log in to share suggestion, feedback and idea with central ministries and can also join discussions & take polls around topics of interest.
3. IRCTC Connect
Indian Railways launched an app to make ticket booking process easier for the people. One can search, book, view, cancel train tickets and get notified for the upcoming journeys.
It stores the information of recently added passenger therefour you can auto complete ticket information. New Users can register through the App directly.
4. Indian Police on Call
This app helps citizens to locate the nearest police station based on their location. The app has all the information like the route and distance to reach the nearest police station.
One can make a call using the app with the displayed number of district control room and the SP office.
5. DigiSevak
Based on their required skills and interest, interested users can volunteer for certain tasks which are created by various government departments if they want to on their free time. Citizens can register through the app as well as evaluate tasks submitted by other volunteers.
6. Incredible India
It offers details of tour operators, registered service providers and more for all the information related to tourism this app comes in handy.
Tourists can access information like domestic tour & transport operators, travel agents, regional guides and hotels available in cities.
7. M-Passport Seva
This application offers a wide variety of passport related services to the users. One cannot apply for a passport using this app beside that it has all the information regarding the steps and the documents required for new passport.
One can search for nearby Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) or District Passport Cells (DPC) in a district by using pin code. It has an inbuilt fee calculator that computes fees along with the application. The application can be tracked through the app by the file number and date of birth.
8. M-Kavach
Indian Cyber watchdog CDAC (Center for Development of Advanced Computing) developed a standalone app called “M-Kavach” for protection against hacking attacks. It addresses threats related to malware that steal personal data and credentials & prevents misuse of WiFi and Bluetooth services.
This application can change SIM information and prevent the use of lost or stolen device by any unauthorized person. Allows easy backup and restoration of data both locally & remotely, blocks spam SMS, premium-rate SMS, and unsolicited incoming calls.
9. DigiLocker
It is a key initiative under Digital India & a step towards paperless governance. It is a platform for issuance and verification of documents, certificates in a digital way. It eliminates the use of physical documents. You can access the uploaded documents from your device.
10. Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG)
Developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. An evolving platform designed for citizens of India to offer them access to the pan India e-Gov services from the Central, State, Local Bodies, and Agencies of government on app & web channels.
11. India Voter List
Helps you avoid the hassle of entering a voting booth with proof of identity just to check whether your name is there on the voting list. Through the India Voters list, citizens can authenticate themselves as voters by searching state wise electoral database for their names.
