The Indian Premier League is all set to resume from September 19 after the marquee event had to pause in between due to the sudden surge and outgrowth of Covid-19 cases back in April this year.

However, in the 2nd phase of the Indian Premier League, most of the players from foreign countries will not be appearing in the tournament as major cricketing nation’s boards are reluctant to let their players attend the marquee event right before the t-20 world cup set to be held in UAE and Oman. While other cricket boards are reluctant to allow their players to participate in the 2nd phase due to several other reasons.

The most eye catching absences due to these circumstances are Steve Smith who’s ruled out due to an injury while Jos Buttler and Pat Cummins will not be making appearances in IPL due to national commitments.

Here’s a list of 10 players who are all set to miss out the 2nd phase of the Indian Premier League:

1) Pat Cummins: KKR and Australia’s best pacer was among the first batch of players who had pulled out from the marquee event back in April/May.

2) Steve Smith: The former Aussie captain and no.1 test batsman has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League with an injury and hoping to make comeback before the Ashes 2021.

3) Jos Buttler: The English International and wicketkeeper who plays for Rajasthan Royals will not be participating in the Indian Premier League due to his prior national commitments.

4) Ben Stokes: The English All-rounder had to return back to England after just playing one match as he had suffered from an injury fracturing his finger in the first game of the season itself.

5) Eoin Morgan: The next on the list is England and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan who most probably will not be returning to India to play in IPL this season due to national commitments.

6) Jonny Bairstow: The forth English player of the list by now also one of SRH’s key batsmen will not be participating in the 2nd phase of IPL due to national duties.

7) Sam Curran: The English bowling all rounder will not be of any service to the Chennai Super Kings as he’ll be in England for national duty in a series against Bangladesh.

8) Moeen Ali: Chennai Super Kings no.3 batsman and Englsih allrounder Moeen Ali is expected to be rested by the ECB and therefore will not be returning to India this September to participate in the IPL.

And lastly both the Bangladesh international Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan who will not be appearing in the 2nd phase of the IPL as they both have a very busy schedule and therefore both the players didn’t get green signal to be able to participate in the IPL by the BCB.
