Toni Kroos has agreed a new deal with Real Madrid that will extend his stay at the club until 2024. There are no problems regarding the renewal, and it is only a matter of time before the announcement is made.
The midfielder was offered a renewal last year itself, but he turned it down to ensure that he would be fit enough to continue. Having retired from the Germany national team after the Euros, it seemed like his playing days were coming to an end since he had made no secret of not wanting to play deep into his thirties.
Toni Kroos to extend contract with Real Madrid until 2024
Although Kroos is 33, his contributions to the first team have been remarkable. The veteran continues to have a very important role to play, both in terms of quality as well as leadership.
News about the renewal broke a week ago, when Fabrizio Romano reported that the two parties had agreed to a renewal. But, doubts emerged after there was no announcement about him continuing.
The contract has already been settled and it is only a matter of time before it is made official. Alongside Toni Kroos, his midfield partner, Luka Modric, and club captain Karim Benzema are also expected to renew their contracts until 2024.
