The seventh and eighth instalment of Tom Cruise starring the Mission Impossible franchise has been delayed until 2023 and 2024. Paramount Pictures and Skydance in their official statement stated that it was necessary for the two movies to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic,” the companies said.

Cruise will be seen in his reprising role of Ethan Hunt that will be released in the USA on July 14, 2023, as the dates got pushed in the future from September 30, 2022.
Mission : Impossible 8
Its follow-up, Mission: Impossible 8 has been moved from July 7, 2023, to June 28, 2024, as per reports.

Along with Tom Cruise, the film will also feature Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby and Angela Bassett.
Tom Cruise, paramount and Skydance have the release of Top Gun: Maverick film release on May 27, 2022. Both the instalments of Mission series and his upcoming Top Gun: Maverick is going to be theatrical films since Cruise desires his audience to have that experience and also because of the films’ heavy budgets.
Tom Cruise will be seen as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the next two instalments just like its original release in 1996. Fallout, released in 2018, was the highest-grossing in the franchise’s history, with $791.1 million globally. The films are generally packed with heavy action scenes.
The 59-year-old actor has invested $700,000 for the film’s cast and crew to live on cruise ships to maintain proper isolation.
It was a tough situation to shoot for Mission: Impossible 7 as the film was earlier put on hold due to the spread of Covid-19 in 2020. The shoot was resumed in 2020 and then got wrapped up by September 2021.
