Tiger King is an American true crime documentary TV miniseries. The series is about the life of a zookeeper and convicted felon Joe Exotic. The series focuses on the small but deeply interconnected society of big cat conservationists such as Carole Baskin, the owner of Big Cat Rescue, and collectors such as Exotic, whom Baskin accuses of abusing and exploiting wild animals. The first season was released on 20th March 2020.
Earlier in February 2021, from various sources (including some Cameo videos from the stars of the docuseries), we get to know that filming of the second season has been done throughout 2020 and into 2021. The documentary series is originally set to release in the Spring but it got postponed to 2021.
John Reinke is one of the stars of the show, who have originally spoken about the second season by saying, “believe it or not, there’s another season gonna come out pretty soon so keep your eyes”.
But now it became clear, not only Netflix has confirmed its season 2 which has been labeled as Tiger King 2. It is scheduled to come out relatively soon.
Officially it is still not get confirmed that when the second installment is coming to Netflix. It seems that by the end of September 2021 it will give notices that tend to pop up a month before its release and if that is the case, then we can expect to get full confirmation this week alongside the full list of September 2021 releases.
One cautionary note is that the notice from the Netflix pages has since been removed. That suggests that someone let the (big) cat out of the bag a little early.
As we all know that if we have been keeping up with the Joe Exotic story, there’s a lot to cover. Joe Exotic is still in prison despite an impassioned campaign for a presidential pardon which actually got asked in the White House Press Room and the various zoos have since been shut down.
Now, everyone’s eye is on the official announcement from Netflix in the coming weeks.
