Thunderflare Dominion in Wuthering Waves: Complete Weapon Guide

Thunderflare Dominion stands as one of the most character-specific weapons in Wuthering Waves, designed specifically for Augusta’s kit while offering utility for select other Resonators. This 5-star broadblade features stats and passives that will specifically benefit its actual wielder, Augusta, though seasoned players can equip it on other compatible units.

Thunderflare Dominion Overview

The Thunderflare Dominion in Wuthering Waves can be obtained from the limited-time weapon banner featured with Augusta. This signature weapon is worth summoning, as it offers powerful stats and effects that synergize perfectly with heavy attack-focused gameplay.

Weapon Passive Ability

Thunderous Reign: Increases ATK by 12%. Casting Intro Skill or Resonance Skill increases Heavy Attack DMG by 20% for 15 seconds. Obtaining Shield allows Heavy Attack DMG to ignore 7.2% of the target’s DEF for 7 seconds, stacking up to five times. This effect is triggered once every 0.5 seconds.

Thunderflare Dominion’s powerful passive offsets its low Crit Rate roll, making it viable for most DPS units. However, characters that employ heavy attacks will benefit the most from the special effect.

Top 3 Characters for Thunderflare Dominion

1. Augusta – The Perfect Match

Why She’s #1: Being her signature option, the broadblade is optimized for her kit. Augusta is a prominent Heavy Attack DPS in Wuthering Waves who bears the Electro element in combat despite her red theme.

Key Synergies:

• Shield Generation: The buff acquired from obtaining a shield was specifically designed for Augusta, as she has the innate ability to generate barriers
• Heavy Attack Focus: The increased Heavy Attack DMG from Thunderflare Dominion is imperative for her build
• Crown of Valor Compatibility: Augusta maximizes the 2.6 Echo Set, Crown of Valor, due to her innate shielding ability

Optimal Build: Augusta brings the energy of a conqueror to every fight, and her rotation focuses on building up Prowess and unlocking Majesty stacks via chained Heavy Attack and Skill combos.

2. Taoqi – The Defensive Surprise

Compatibility Rating: Despite being a defensive support unit, Taoqi is highly compatible with Augusta’s signature weapon.

Strategic Value:

• Rocksteady Defense: She can unleash a special “Rocksteady Defense” heavy attack, which benefits from the additional damage enhancements
• Shield Synergy: The shield generated via her Strategic Parry can potentially trigger the additional effect of the 5-star broadblade
• Consistency Boost: The Crit Rate stat makes her attacks more consistent, even with her defense-scaling kit

Limitations: The ATK buff isn’t necessarily useful considering her defense scaling kit, but the weapon’s passive effects still provide value.

3. Jiyan – The Alternative DPS

Why He Works: Jiyan is the other 5-star unit who can effectively utilize the Thunderflare Dominion’s stats and passive effect.

Advantages:

• Stat Balance: The Crit Rate helps balance his overall stats
• Damage Enhancement: The ATK and Heavy Attack buffs improve his damage output significantly
• Versatile Compatibility: Can serve as a secondary option if Augusta isn’t available

Major Drawback: Sadly, Jiyan lacks the ability to generate a shield, meaning his Heavy Attacks will not ignore the target’s DEF, missing out on the weapon’s most powerful effect.

Weapon Acquisition Strategy

Banner Timing: The weapon is available during Augusta’s limited banner period. Players should consider their pity count and whether they plan to pull for Augusta herself.

Investment Value: Given its character-specific nature, only pull if you have Augusta or plan to obtain her. The weapon’s effectiveness drops significantly on other characters.

Alternative Weapons for Comparison

For players without Thunderflare Dominion, Augusta can use:

• Broadblade of Night (4-star alternative)
• Broadblade of Voyager (Free-to-play option)
• Other Crit-focused broadblades
