Three South Indian Streaming Picks Landing on October 23, and One Is a Time-Loop Wedding Nightmare

Friday night plans, sorted. Three Malayalam and Tamil titles arrive on OTT this week, and they couldn’t be more different: a 1980s drama, a courtroom series, and a comedy that kills its hero repeatedly.

This Week’s South Indian Lineup

1. Dorothy: Loyalty vs. Identity

Cast: Sananth, Rishikanth, Keerthy Suresh, Ramachandran Durairaj, Muthazhagi, Jeeva Subramanian

Set in the 1980s, the film follows childhood friends Karthi and Subbu, who grow up as henchmen under Subbu’s father, Whistle Veeraiah. Their lives change after Dorothy, Subbu’s sister-in-law, dies under mysterious circumstances. Subbu then reveals her true gender identity and is rejected and driven out by her family. Flashbacks show Dorothy had supported her in embracing her true self.

Veeraiah hires Karthi to end Subbu, but Karthi struggles to follow through as they travel together and he confronts his own feelings. It’s an emotional drama about love, family honour, and the choices that define us. Director Karthik Subbaraj is behind this one.

2. Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2: The Law Under Pressure

Cast: Saravanan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Lavanya, Prem Kumar

Advocate Sundaramoorthy returns with a complex case that tests his principles and commitment to justice. As he digs deeper, he uncovers institutional corruption and hidden agendas meant to suppress the truth. A pivotal new character adds further complications, forcing him to navigate the murky line between power and morality and make difficult sacrifices. Choose this if you like courtroom stories with moral weight.

3. Dhoomakethu: Die at the Altar, Wake Up Again

Cast: Sajin Gopu, Nikhila Vimal, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Shine Tom Chacko, Sidharth Bharathan

Kuttan, a 36-year-old bachelor, finally gets his wedding to Sharmila, until masked intruders attack, end his life, and abduct his bride. Then he wakes up on the morning of the wedding. Every death resets the day, trapping him in a deadly time loop.

With a friend’s help, he tries again and again to change the day while uncovering a sinister conspiracy linked to a rare comet. The big question is whether he can solve the puzzle and save Sharmila. Pick this for something light, fast, and inventive.
