The highly anticipated historical drama series The Witcher Season 3 unleashed a power-pack action trailer for the fans. The new trailer exposes Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) trying to adjust and settle into their new life as a family. This is unfortunate that peace will never last on the Continent. While everything seems to be good the danger slowly taking over the state. This time Ciri will be the center of the new trouble.
The Witcher Season 3: Plot
The new trailer of The Witcher Season 3 provides some hints about the coming back of the favorite trio, and beyond. The first trailer of the third season didn’t expose much. The trailer gives a green signal about the mysterious threat coming toward the trio. The growing darkness really becomes a matter of concern for the first time.
It’s been a while since fans spent time with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri in Season 2 premiered all the way back in December 2021. The prequel of the series was set over a thousand years prior at the events of the flagship series and starred Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, and Minnie Driver. It also featured Joey Batey, who plays Jaskier in The Witcher, and who reprised the role for the prequel.
From the last season, it has been confirmed that monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent are competing to capture Citi. Geralt comes as a protector and takes Ciri into hiding. Geralt has determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who have threatened to destroy it. With the trust of Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer guides them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they can hope to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers, but they find that they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. Now, they have to fight back, put everything on the line or lose everyone forever.
The trailer fills with some groundbreaking action with swords, gore, and the kinds of monsters who will bring the bravest nightmares for the three. Apart from fighting scenes, the trailer contains some sweet moments between Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. The most favorite character Bard Jaskier will crack many funny moments which will work as a refreshment for all and even Geralt and Yennefer finish the cleaning, and are ready to attend a candlelit ball.

Cavill’s Geralt Last Dance
While fans are eagerly waiting for season 5 of Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, Season 3 will be the final dance for Cavill as the legendary monster-hunter. It was already declared the last year that Cavill will step down from the role, we are assuming the heartthrob Liam Hemsworth will move forward as Geralt’s iconic lace front in Season 4.
That’s not to say that fans need to bid Cavill’s Geralt a firm farewell just yet. Back in December, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich told Collider’s Steve Weintraub that she “wouldn’t rule out” splitting Season 3 into two parts, given the new practice of streamers splitting up their seasons to draw in an audience. It seems she ultimately decided to go with that approach as it was announced that the season would release in two batches, with the first five episodes hitting Netflix on June 29, followed by episodes six through eight on July 27.
While a change of actor might be jarring for fans, they can rest easy knowing that the showrunner knows where all this is headed. During the same interview, Schmidt Hissrich told Weintraub that while she’s considering other spin-offs that expand the world, she has a “definite endpoint” for The Witcher in mind.
The Witcher Season 3 Release Date
Geralt and Co. will appear twice on the screen to double the fun this summer. Season 3 will contain two parts — Volume 1, filled with the first five episodes, releases on June 29, while the remaining three episodes will unveil as Volume 2 on July 27.
