Google has announced it’s latest upcoming feature called “Entertainment Space” coming up in Walmart’s tablets later this month, also the venture will be further expanded with devices from Lenovo and Sharp towards the year end.
Google has been developing the Entertainment Space for nearly two years now.
So what is the new Entertainment Space? Basically it’s an inbuilt feature on selective tablet devices where all the elements of digital entertainment are in the same place starting from videos ( TV shows, movies, YouTube, etc.) to games and books.
Let’s start with the watch section; The watch section is basically a lookalike of the Google Chromecast and can be synced with your Google accounts.
In the gaming section, it displays recommended games & now Google is also coming up with the new “Instant Play” games ; they refer to the games which do not have to be downloaded to be playable and have a separate section for them.
In the last comes the books tab: This section let’s you to quickly get back to the book you were reading and has a popular collections of books.
Google have moved forward with this venture as reports have suggested a 30% increase in use of tablets in the past one year and this saves a lot of time, other than after subscription it also provides separate customized profiles for each user.
It is referred as one of the most significant changes to Android tablet experience and adds a whole new dimension.
But there are few downsides as well, for starters Samsung one of the most reputed and high quality tablet manufacturer is not on board yet with the Entertainment stating some issues regarding the UI as the Entertainment system is integrated in to the default launcher.
One more significant downside of this is Netflix is not included in this and this may make the new Entertainment System seem undesirable to some of the users.
