The second teaser for ENA’s highly anticipated thriller The Scarecrow has dropped, and if this is just a preview, the full drama is going to be absolutely electrifying. Park Hae Soo and Lee Hee Joon share the screen again — but this time, their history makes everything dangerously personal.
The Scarecrow: Overview
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Drama | The Scarecrow |
| Network | ENA |
| Lead Cast | Park Hae Soo, Lee Hee Joon |
| Genre | Crime Thriller / Mystery |
| Time Span | 1988 – 2019 |
| Premiere | April 20, 2026 — 10:00 PM KST |
What the New Teaser Reveals
The teaser opens with Kang Tae Joo’s calm yet resolute declaration — “I’ll catch you” — as suspicions rise around a serial killer case in GangseongThat single line sets the entire tone: quiet, focused, and absolutely bone-chilling.
Then the tension doubles. When the two former classmates reunite for the first time in 30 years, Cha Si Young pulls Kang Tae Joo into a hug saying “I missed you” — but his smiling face only reminds Kang Tae Joo of his nightmare-like past. A hug has never felt so menacing.
A Collaboration Built on Resentment
Their forced partnership creates a gripping sense of tension — Kang Tae Joo is the detective chasing the killer, while Cha Si Young is the prosecutor chasing the detective. Two predators. One case. Zero loyalty.
Near the end of the teaser, Kang Tae Joo warns sharply, “I’m not the same Kang Tae Joo from the past. Don’t mess with me!” while Cha Si Young coolly resolves, “I’m going to keep you by my side.”
That exchange alone is worth watching on loop. The power dynamics, the history, the barely suppressed rage — it’s layered storytelling at its finest.
Why This Drama Will Be a Major Hit
The Scarecrow is shaping up to be one of 2026’s most compelling offerings. Set between 1988 and 2019, the story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.
This is exactly the kind of slow-burn, psychologically rich crime fiction storytelling that K-drama does better than anyone else in the world right now.
