The Ordinary Jackpot Episodes 5-6: 4 Tough Tests for Lee Jun Hyuk’s Gong Eun Tae After His Million-Dollar Win

Winning almost a million dollars did not make life easy for Gong Eun Tae. In episodes 5-6 of The Ordinary Jackpot, Lee Jun Hyuk’s character faces a former colleague turned rival, a store launch, a costly stock mistake and a delicate internal audit. Spoilers for episodes 5-6 ahead.

The Ordinary Jackpot: Overview

1. Facing a Former Friend, Jung Sun Hyuk

Jung Sun Hyuk (Oh Dae Hwan) leaves the company and tries to take some of his old team’s staff with him. Eun Tae has to handle it himself. He flies to Italy with Park Ki Tae (Hong Jin Ki) to break Sun Hyuk’s partnership with another firm. The plan is risky and could cost Eun Tae his own job, but it works. Still, neither he nor his boss wants to destroy Sun Hyuk’s start-up. They were once friends, and in the end there are no hard feelings, even if the bond looks badly damaged.

2. The Grand Opening of Lakne’s New Store

While the Sun Hyuk drama plays out, Sales Team 5 still has a store to open. The team pulls all-nighters and stays in sync even after the unexpected death of a senior at the company. The sequence shows what a strong team they are. It also explains why Eun Tae has no wish to quit, even though he now has the money to do so. He has found a new kind of satisfaction in succeeding with others and not only on his own.

3. A Huge Stock Ordering Mistake

The team discovers they ordered more than double the stock they needed, and panic sets in. Yang Joon Ho (Seo Hyun Woo) steps up with a clever plan. He may seem like a guy who only handles small problems, but he proves he can see the big picture. The scene is tense and funny at once. They manage to save the career of a model (Uie, in a special appearance) going through a difficult divorce, and the publicity ends up boosting their sales. A crisis turns into an opportunity.

4. The Internal Audit

Doing great work brings more work. Eun Tae’s team stands out, so the higher-ups put him at the front of the audit of Sales Team 2. That could strain his relationships with peers and even put his own team at risk. He turns to Jang Hyang Eun (Baek Yae In), the whistleblower in a corruption case at the company’s China office. Whether she will trust him is the cliffhanger for the next episodes.
