OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3: A Unified Foldable Experience

Based on leaked images, it appears that the OnePlus Open, signaling OnePlus’ venture into the world of foldable phones, is, in essence, a rebadged version of the OPPO Find N3, intended for a global audience. OnePlus has officially acknowledged this and disclosed that both OnePlus’ co-founder and OPPO’s Chief Product Officer, Mr. Pete Lau, collaborated closely to develop this foldable phone, with the intention of launching it under both brand names in various parts of the world.

The Rumored Specs and Features of Oppo Find N3

The OnePlus Open and the OPPO Find N3 represent the same device, albeit with different monikers, each likely tailored for distinct geographical markets. While the OnePlus Open is scheduled for a global debut on October 19th, the OPPO Find N3 is expected to maintain its exclusivity to the Chinese market. As part of their promotional efforts, Mr. Lau shed light on the phone’s hinge mechanism, emphasizing that both OnePlus and OPPO have collectively registered a total of 35 patents related to this particular design aspect.

Regarding their specifications, both phones are anticipated to feature a 7.82-inch AMOLED primary display, complemented by a 6.31-inch cover screen. These devices could offer substantial memory and storage capacities, potentially reaching up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, all powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

They might be equipped with a 4,520mAh battery featuring 100W fast charging capabilities and wireless charging support. In the camera department, we may see a configuration that includes a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto module, in addition to a 32MP front-facing camera.

The choice of the operating system could vary, with Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1 expected in China, while OxygenOS 13 may be deployed in other markets. However, it is essential to exercise caution as these specifications are based on unconfirmed leaks and rumors, and the final product may differ.
