Christopher Nolan’s epic is holding steady at the Indian box office, but a massive new rival just entered the arena — and the numbers tell an interesting story.
How Is The Odyssey Performing?
The Odyssey collected Rs 4.90 crore on its second Wednesday, marking a 15 per cent drop from the previous day, taking its 6-day second-week total to Rs 51.15 crore. At this pace, the film is expected to close its second week around Rs 55 crore.
Combined with its first-week haul of Rs 104.25 crore, the film’s running total has now reached Rs 155.40 crore gross in India. That’s a solid, steady hold for a genre that doesn’t traditionally dominate Indian screens.

The Real Test Begins Now
The Odyssey now faces a major new release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is expected to eat into its business going forward. If it manages to hold up against Tom Holland’s film, The Odyssey could still cross the Rs 200 crore mark by the end of its run.
Christopher Nolan’s pull remains the film’s biggest strength — he’s widely regarded in India as shorthand for a great filmmaker, and his recent releases, including the Interstellar re-release, have consistently drawn strong audiences. That said, this isn’t a genre that typically performs big in India, with the 300 franchise being one of the rare exceptions.

What’s Next for The Odyssey?
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day now in theatres, the coming days will determine whether Nolan’s epic can maintain its momentum or cede screens to the superhero juggernaut. Either way, crossing Rs 155 crore in less than two weeks is no small feat for a film outside India’s usual box-office comfort zone.
