There is news roaming on the internet saying India’s National Informatics Center (NIC) has banned all the Chinese apps throughout the country. After knowing it, the Indian Press Information Bureau twitted regarding this and mentioned the news is fully fake.
In the twit, PIB said, “Claim: A virtual message of an order allegedly from NIC claims that @Gol_Meity has prohibited some apps from being made available on App Stores. #PIBFactCheck: The Order is #Fake. No such instruction has been given by @Gol_MeitY or NIC.”
The fake news stated that the Indian government asked Google and Apple to remove the Chinese apps from their individual application stores. As per the rumor, the apps could “compromise the sovereignty of the country.”
The app list that said are going to ban has the popular names like LiveMe, Bigo Live, CamScanner, TikTok, Vigo Video, Beauty Plus, Club Factory, Clash of Kings, Mobile Legends, Shein, Applock, Vmate, Romwe, and Game of Sultans.
While border issues with China are at its pick, this kind of fake news can disturb common people’s mentality badly. These negative effects bring positivity for some apps like Mitron, Remove China Apps, and Made in India barcode scanner. Though the first two are removed from the Google Play Store, that’s a separate issue.
