Gotham Knights, the upcoming title in the Batman series, has been now delayed to 2022. Warner Bros confirmed the news on Twitter by saying that it is not going to hit before the end of 2021, as it was previously announced. It seems that the delay has occurred for some needed additional development time, although WB didn’t say anything specifically about it.
“We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months,” Warner Bros. said in the statement.
This title is the second high-profile game from Warner Bros which has been delayed to 2022, as Warner Bros has already shifted the open-world Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy to the next year. WB didn’t mention the pandemic having affected the anyhow on the development of Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy.
Gotham Knights is going to be much interesting as it’s going to bring Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Nightwing all together for an ambitious open-world crime caper that will set the players to compete against the iconic villains to keep Gotham safe from the bad hands. The big twist in the game is, Bruce Wayne and Batman are believed to be dead, which the rest of the bat-family need to come forward and establish themselves as the new saviors of the city.
This title is the only one of two announced DC universe games, that is under development right now, with Rocksteady working on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to also launch in 2022.
