The Husband: Namkoong Min’s Rooftop Gamble Could Cost Him $2 Million — Or Save His Wife

Some rescue plans involve guns and getaway cars. Kang Tae Joo’s involves a pile of cash and a lighter. KBS 2TV’s thriller The Husband has released new stills teasing a high-stakes counterattack, and it looks like Namkoong Min’s character is about to gamble everything to save his kidnapped wife.

The Husband: Details

The Story So Far

The Husband follows Kang Tae Joo, a man on the brink of divorce who suddenly finds himself locked in a desperate fight against a dangerous criminal to save his wife. In previous episodes, Tae Joo broke through a police dragnet and teamed up with Lee Soo Hyung, played by Park Byung Eun, to stage a counterattack aimed at Noh Man Hee — the kidnapper holding Tae Joo’s wife, Go Se Yoon, played by Lee Seol.

What’s Coming Next

The new stills show Tae Joo arriving on a rooftop with a large bag and a black hard case, carefully checking through various communication devices as he preps his next move. Things escalate quickly from there: he piles up the full 3 billion won he took from his in-laws, pours oil over the cash, and appears ready to set it on fire.

It’s a moment that leaves viewers with a genuine question — will he actually burn that much money to save his wife, and will this unconventional counterattack against Noh Man Hee actually work?

Namkoong Min’s Transformation

Throughout the tense standoff, Namkoong Min plays Tae Joo with a determined, weighty presence, capturing his shift from a man on the run into someone actively hunting his enemy. It’s the kind of psychological intensity Namkoong Min has built a reputation for, following performances in thriller dramas that lean heavily on tension and morally complicated choices.
