AMD Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100 launched – $120 for 4.3GHz, along with B550 chipset

The recently announced entry-level quad-core Ryzen 3 3100 has been impressing all of us in the leaked benchmarks. AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 architecture is the major performance booster of the CPU which will go on retail at just $99.

Being an unlocked CPU it can be overclocked well enough if it meets proper cooling requirements. The Ryzen 3 3100 with its 8 logical cores/ threads has a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz and 3.9 GHz boost clock speed.

The entry-level quad-core Ryzen 3 3100 caught running at 4.60 GHz on Geekbench

Recently, @TUM_APISAK discovered a leaked benchmark where we see this entry-level CPU running at a whopping 4.60 GHz at Geekbench 5. It managed to score as high as 1325 points in single-core and 5669 in multi-core tests.

In normal conditions, the chip manages to grab 1,095 points in single-core and 4,507 points in multi-core benchmarks. You can overclock the Ryzen 3 3100 much higher than expected and some other benchmarks also prove that too like it reached up to 4.20 GHz on all cores on Geekbench 4.4.

On the hand, it achieved a 4.50 GHz on both 3DMark’s Fire Strike Extreme and Time Spy benchmarks. So even though being an underclocked quad core CPU, the possibilities are huge, at just $99 price the 7nm processor has more to offer which will be interesting to see if Intel can match up to.
