9. Viduthalai Part 1

The story kicks off with a newly appointed constable who is not able to identify what’s the right thing in the grand scheme of things. The film depicts a rare scenario of the current political scenario in India.

This film is definitely going to be another blockbuster Tamil film that conquered the hearts of Tamil audiences and critics. The dominating Tamil cop-thriller explored all of the tropes of the sub-genre and still managed to be fresh. The story of the film follows a novice police officer played by Ashok Slevan and a veteran played by Sarathkumar are become the witnesses of the serial killer in Trichy. 7. Good Night
Good Night explores another sector of the film genre that has been directed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran. Now, things might not be that successful just like the romantic drama of Dhanush. In this film, the protagonist is suffering from a snoring issue which puts his marriage in danger along with intrigue.

Maaveeran returned to the Tamil cinema as its original superhero. In between this, there is a voice speaking in the head of a coward cartoonist Sathya that makes him into a superhero. The story of the film has been helmed by SU Arun Kumar. The story of Chittha is based on the victims of pedophilia along with the recourse one should take. In this film, we see a man who is raising his niece as his own daughter, and everything is going to appear normal in their life until the little girl has been missed.

Dada is another upcoming small thriller film that has emerged as a winner this year. In between this, you will get such a moving story regarding a single alcoholic father who is taking care of his son and also redeeming himself which was well-executed by the director Ganesh K Babu.

Maamannan depicts the tale of the titular hero who is an MLA and belongs to an underprivileged caste. It might be the first movie which is going to explore the exact pattern of the politics that exists in the anti-caste party. Fahad Faasil, Udhaynidhi, and Vadivelu are jointly creating the film. In this, Vadivelu appears as a Dalit politician who comes with an optimistic story from where good once again conquers evil against all odds.

Karthik Subbaraj has come back to the silver screen along with Jigarthanda DoubleX and has made his position one of the most reputed filmmakers of Tamil cinema. The film has been inspired by Spaghetti Westerns, Kartik has made a genre of his own, as he invokes ‘Pandya Western’. The film contains twists along with excellent execution and superlative performances from  SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence.Â

Koozhangal became the top Tamil film which has conquered the top prize at the Rotterdam Film Festival. The story of the film follows an alcoholic father who has dragged his naive son out of school and embarking on a journey to return his wife who has left him. In between this, the commotion in his wife’s village has just pushed the duo to walk back home where the unforgiving barren land along with the punishing sun force them to tackle their emotions.
