Warner Bros has stopped The Batman movie’s theatrical release in Russia. Disney has decided to stop producing its film in Russia as long as the military continues its attack on Ukraine. After the decision of the Mickey Mouse company, Warner Bros has also joined and made the announcement that it would not include the country with the largest territorial extension in the world in the world premiere of the film The Batman which is going to release on 4th March 2022.

A WarnerMedia has said in a statement, “In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the release of its feature film The Batman in Russia”. It further added, “We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves. We hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to this tragedy.”

Russia: The Hollywood’s big market

Russia is considered one of the top markets of Hollywood film productions. It also includes Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has grossed $44.5 million since it was released last December.

With the rise of the Russia-Ukraine war, a number of Hollywood films have had their theatrical releases in the country including Joe Wright’s Cyrano and Paramount’s The Godfather 50th Anniversary.
