Yes, you heard it right, Tekken 8 has achieved a new milestone in its sales with its new sales records. However, its not the first game to achieve this, but certainly is now counted among some particular achieving this record in a month.

Tekken 8 Sold More Than 2 Million Copies
The fighting game Tekken 8 was launched on January 26 and in the first month of its sales it has sold more than 2 million copies. Even on the first day of its release the game sold over and now achieved this milestone.
The sales figure has been announced by Bandai Namco after the completion of the one month of launch. The game was launched across PlayStation 5, PC via Steam and Xbox Series X/S.
Adding to the report of sales figures for the Tekken 8, Bandai Namco added, “This greatly outpaces the sales of the Tekken 7.” As you may already know, this predecessor of the Tekken 8 is still being played and has recorded the total highest sales record.
Till now, Tekken 7 has sold more than 11.8 million copies across the globe, indicating its level of popularity. However, when compared with other games, the sales of Tekken 8 seem just fine.
Talking about the rival fighting game Street Fighter 6, it also sold more than 2 million copies after a month of sale. Also, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 game recorded sales of more than 3 million copies in 7 months.
Another game, Mortal Kombat 1 by NetherRealm, has sold approximately 3 million copies in just over a month on sale. So, we can say that the Tekken 8 is moving at a similar pace as its rivals, which is a good thing.
The game development studio further added that “support for Tekken 8 will continue through various content updates, esports events and licensing announcements.”
Mentioning which, here it is important to note that the Tekken World Tour 2024 is all set to start on April 13. Where the Tekken World Tour Finals see the culmination of the game’s first year of esports.
In its reports, Bandai Namco has noted about the Tekken 8’s controversial Tekken Shop. Earlier there were complaints from the players about the shop. And it said,
“This in – game shop will provide customization items such as costumes from previous instalments, character skins for avatar, and licensed items from our collaborations, letting players put their own touch on their favourite Tekken characters.”
