Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno Mobile has unveiled its latest budget smartphone in India, the device has been dubbed the Tecno POP 5 LTE and it is the successor to the Tecno POP 4. The entry-level smartphone was first launched in Pakistan and the Philippines in November 2021 and it is now making its way to India.
The Tecno POP 5 LTE retains the budget pricing of its predecessors while the specs are also pretty good considering its price. The Tecno POP 5 features a 6.52″ dot-notch display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and a peak brightness of 480 nits. The display has a touch sampling rate of 120Hz.
The Tecno POP 5 has a 2.5D curved glass covering the display panel, the waterdrop notch design provides a 90% screen-to-body ratio for the entire device.
The POP 5 LTE is powered by the 2GHz Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A25 chip that has been paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable all the way to 256GB through a microSD card. Tecno could release a variant with higher storage configurations eventually.
Coming to the camera specs of the Tecno POP 5 LTE, there is a dual-camera setup on the rear with an 8MP primary sensor along with an AI lens and dual-LED flash. There is a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. The front camera comes with an LED flash as well.
The Tecno POP 5 LTE runs on Android 11 Go Edition with HiOS 7.6 on top. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery that assures 31 days of standby time and up to 48 hours of video playback time. The device has an IPX2 splash-resistant rating along with a 3.5mm audio jack.
The phone comes with 4G VoLTE support, FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS. Coming to the pricing, the Tecno POP 5 LTE has been priced at 6,299 INR and will retail on Amazon India from the 16th of January. The Tecno POP 5 LTE comes in Ice Blue, Deepsea Luster, and Turquoise Cyan color options.
