TCL announced a tablet and three new low-cost phones during a hectic CES 2023.
TCL 40 SE
The TCL 40 SE from the new lineup is the phone with the most features. It includes an HD+ resolution, a 6.75-inch IPC LCD, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the phone has dual speakers and a notch for the front-facing 8MP camera.
At the helm is MediaTek’s Helio G37 CPU, which is supported by 4–6 GB of RAM and 128–256 GB of additional storage via a microSD card slot. A 2MP macro camera, a depth sensor, and a 50MP primary camera are all located on the back.
The phone’s 5,010 mAh battery offers 18W charging rates, and TCL UI 5.0 is installed on top of Android 13 during startup.
The TCL 40SE is available in the hues grey and purple and will make its debut in Europe later this quarter for the equivalent of $169.
TCL 408
The TCL 408 costs $129 and is a little less expensive than the 40 SE. A 6.6-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate is included. On the back, there is a 2MP depth module in addition to the 50MP main camera. The V-shaped notch on the selfie camera has an 8MP resolution.
The TCL 408 comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage and has a MediaTek Helio P22 CPU. The phone’s 5,000 mAh battery powers Android 12 while supporting 10W charging rates.
The TCL 408 costs $129 and will soon be available in Europe and Asia. It comes in grey and blue.
TCL 403
The TCL 403 is a low-cost gadget featuring a 6-inch TFT IPS display with a 480 x 960 px resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a 5MP front-facing camera and a single 8MP rear camera.
It has 2GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and MediaTek’s Helio A22 CPU. A 3,000 mAh battery and micro-USB charging are also included in the phone, which runs Android 12 (Go edition).
Black and mauve mist are the colour options for the TCL 403. There was no information about prices or availability.
TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro
The TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro features a large 12.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
The MediaTek Kompanio 800T chipset, coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage on the Android 12 tablet, are all powered by MediaTek. An 8MP front-facing camera is included, while a single 13MP camera with an LED flash is located on the back.
Over 8,192 pressure levels are supported by the E-Pen pen that TCL is offering. The battery has a capacity of 8,000 mAh and charges through USB-C, and the operating system is Android 12. A keyboard accessory that uses pogo pins to magnetically attach to the tablet is available as an optional accessory.
The TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro is available in the US for $499 (Wi-Fi only), but the 5G version won’t be available until later this year at a price of $549.
