Tavvai Official Trailer: JioHotstar Mythological Horror

A chilling new shadow is about to fall over Indian digital cinema. JioHotstar has officially released the haunting Tavvai official trailer, offering a terrifying first look at an ambitious mythological horror-thriller. Centred around ancient scriptures and a terrifying bloodline curse, this dark cinematic experience explores a figure rarely represented on screen, promising to send shivers down your spine when it makes its highly anticipated digital debut.

Unleashing Alakshmi: The Ancient Goddess of Misfortune

While modern popular culture frequently celebrates Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, this narrative courageously steps into the shadows to introduce her polar opposite sister: Tavvai, also known as Alakshmi, the deity of poverty, grief, and absolute misfortune.

Directed by the filmmaking duo Nirbhay Jariwala and Jayesh Vrushiraj, the trailer establishes a deep sense of dread. The plot follows a young man named Pramendra who inherits a devastating ancestral curse deeply intertwined with an abandoned village shrine. To protect his family from an ancient, consuming evil, he must piece together dark family secrets. Legendary actor Manoj Joshi anchors the tension alongside a powerful cast featuring Arpit Ranka and Bhushan Pradhan, creating a brilliant contrast between grounded dramatic realism and terrifying supernatural lore.
