IPL 2021 Phase Two: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings – Preview, Prediction and Fantasy XI

The evening fixture of the double header of IPL 2021 will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Both the teams will play this match in UAE at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

As we lead up to this match, both the teams are coming off a defeat in their first game of phase two of IPL 2021. As a result, both teams will be desperate to find their first victory in the second leg.

    Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad who is at the bottom place of the standings will require a miracle to qualify into the playoffs. A defeat today would end their journey from this season of IPL.

The Hyderabad side led by Williamson exhibited a dismal performance in all departments against Delhi. Consequently, SRH are expected to make some changes in order to rectify their mistakes and find a balance for the remaining fixtures

    Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings showcased an impressive batting performance to only bottle the game during the most crucial stage of the innings. Like always KL Rahul gave a good start and his batting will play a major role in today’s fixture. The bowling attack of Punjab pulled it back in the latter stages but they will have to stop the opening pair of Delhi early to stand a chance.

    Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a horrible day in the office against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. This SRH team need to pull themselves back today to win their second win of this season. To win against Delhi, Hyderabad will require their stars Warner, Williamson and Rashid Khan to step up and deliver match winning performances.

Predictions for the IPL 2021 Match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings

Both the teams are reeling at the bottom positions on the table in IPL 2021. However, Punjab looks in a better position and are expected to win as their star batsman’s played well in the last game. Moreover, their death bowling looks great as Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami stifled the scoring against RR. On the other hand, Hyderabad need to pick themselves up and come together as a team.

    Fantasy XI Team

    KL Rahul – 11 Cr

The Sharjah pitch slows down in the middle overs as the ball gets old. Hence the Punjab captain would attack the SRH bowlers during the power play when the ball comes on the bat nicely. Owing to his recent form I have selected Rahul as my captain for the fantasy XI.

    Mayank Agarwal – 9.5 Cr

Mayank Agarwal played a brilliant knock of 67 from 43 balls and this Sharjah pitch will help him perform even better.

    Kane Williamson – 9.5 Cr

Kane Williamson had a bad first game against DC. However, with the Sharjah pitch assisting batsman early on, one can expect the Hyderabad captain to score a decent amount of runs.

    Arshdeep Singh – 8.5 Cr

Arshdeep Singh had great bowling figures as he picked up 5 wickets against Rajasthan Royals. His ability to pick up wickets in the death makes him a valuable option.

    Mohammed Shami – 9 Cr

Along with Arshdeep, Shami bowled well and picked up three wickets. The fast bowler will come in handy against the unbalanced middle order of SRH.

    Rashid Khan – 9.5 Cr

I have sselected Rashid Khan as my vice-captain for this fixture because this pitch will assist him. Moreover, he is SRH’s best bowler and is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world.

    Wriddhiman Saha – 8.5 Cr

As mentioned above, the new ball came on the bat very well in yesterday’s game. As a result, Saha is a good option as he can score runs early in the innings.

    Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 9 Cr

Despite going wicketless, Bhuvneshwar had a decent economy rate. The SRH bowler is a type of player than can wreck the batting order on any given day.

    Jason Holder – 9 Cr

Jason holder is a great all-rounder who can contribute in batting and bowling for the team. Hence I have selected him in my fantasy lineup.

    Aiden Markram – 8.5 Cr

Aiden Markram had a decent IPL debut and the South African can score big if a early wicket falls down against Hyderabad.

    Abdul Samad – 8 Cr

Abdul Samad is a budget player who can help Hyderabad to add some quick runs in the lower half of the innings. Moreover, his leg break will come in play if they only play Rashid as the lone spinner.

  • Andre Nortje breaks the internet after delivering the top Eight fastest balls of IPL 2021 against SRH

Andre Nortje breaks the internet after delivering the top Eight fastest balls of IPL 2021 against SRH

Anrich Nortje made his return to the playing XI of Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in phase two of IPL 2021 on Friday. The South African pacer started the second half for his team in express style. He took the key wicket of David Warner in the first over of the innings to give Delhi Capitals a great start.

That wasn’t the only feat he achieved as he clocked the top eight fast deliveries of the IPL 2021 season. Out of these 8 deliveries, Nortje’s three deliveries crossed the 150 kmph mark. Let’s take a look at Anrich Nortje’s spectacular spell that broke all the speed records of this season.

The South African fast bowler clocked 151.71 kmph, 151.37 kmph, 150.83 kmph, 150.21 kmph, 149.97 kph, 149.29 kmph, 149.15 kmph and 148.76 kmph. In the end, Anrich Nortje finished with outstanding figures of 2 wickets for 12 runs from his 4 overs.

Consequently, the 26-year-old pacer received the player of the match award for his terrific bowling display against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Twitter Reaction as Anrich Nortje clocks the eight fastest deliveries of IPL 2021

Every Cricket fans were aware that Anrich Nortje had the ability to consistently clock 140+. However, the South African pacer surprised everyone by his mindblowing fast bowling against SRH.

As a result, fans and analysts went on Twitter to share their astonishment after seeing Nortje’s fast bowling spell. So let us take a look at some of the tweets by fans and cricketers.

Captain Rishabh Pant hailed his fiery DC pacers after securing a 8-wicket win over SRH. “Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje are two of the quickest bowlers in the world and I think they’re great assets to have.”

Lets also take a look at Nortje’s reaction after winning the man of the match a ward for his brilliant performance. “It was good. Really, enjoyed it. It was good to be out with boys again. It’s been a long time since I played a game and to be out in Dubai where we started a year ago. It was nice.”

In the end, there is no doubt that the South African pace duo of Nortje and Rabada is extremely dangerous for any side in these UAE pitches. Thus fans can see such exhilarating pace from the fast bowling pair in the coming matches.

IPL 2021 Phase Two DC vs SRH : Match Preview, Fantasy XI and Prediction

Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will faceoff against each other in today’s game of phase two of IPL 2021. A win for Delhi today would mean that the franchise has put one leg into the playoffs. Whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad who is last in the table need an unthinkable run to reach the top four, starting with a win today against DC.

    Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals who are currently second in the table have performed extremely well in the first leg of IPL 2021. Heading into this match, Delhi has received a huge boost in the form of Shreyas Iyer. They missed his services due to an injury he suffered earlier this year. With his inclusion in the lineup, DC’s problem of giving away runs in the death will go away. This is because Anrich Nortje will partner with Kagiso Rabida and the duo performed extremely well last year in UAE.

    Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disastrous first phase of IPL 2021 as they only managed to win one game out of the seven matches played. As a result, they will have an improbable task of getting into the playoffs and a loss against Delhi would end their road to playoffs. Despite a change in environment, SRH has several problems to address. First is the captaincy conundrum following Warner’s axe. In addition to that Bairstow’s absence in the second phase will play a significant role.

    Fantasy XI Team

    Shikhar Dhawan10 Cr (Captain)

I have selected Shikhar Dhawan as the captain for his exceptional form during the first phase. Moreover, his high strike rate against spin makes him a great choice against the likes of Rashid Khan.

Kane Williamson – 9.5 Cr (Vice Captain)

Kane Williamson has always been consistent for Srh whenever he has been a part of the lineup. With Warner stepping down as the captain, it is likely he will stay as the captain for today’s game and the Kiwi can score big runs.

    Kagiso Rabada 9 Cr

Kagiso Rabada had an underwhelming first half for Dc this season. However, fast bowlers have performed well in Dubai and as a result, he will play a crucial role in today’s match.

    Anrich Nortje8.5 Cr

Nortje will probably return to the lineup as Dubai offers fast bowlers assistance. With the South African performing well in UAE last year, we can expect something similar in this match as well.

    Rishabh Pant 9.5 Cr

Rishabh Pant is the kind of player who can turn the fortunes of DC with a span of two-three overs. His aggressive batting may come in handy for Delhi against Srh in the middle overs.

    Prithvi Shaw9 Cr

Along with Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw was in terrific form which makes it difficult to leave him from the fantasy lineup.

    Rashid Khan 9.5 Cr

Rashid Khan has been Sunrisers Hyderabad’s premier bowler since making his debut in IPL. The leg spinner is a big threat and hence he is a part of the lineup

    Marcus Stoinis 8.5

Marcus Stoinis’s all-around capabilities have helped DC a lot in the last few seasons. Moreover, the Australian can be promoted depending on the situation and that is one of the reasons for his inclusion

    Manish Pandey 9 Cr

Despite being criticized for low strike rate, Manish Pandey adds crucial runs on the board during most occasions. Thus he is a safe bet to include in this lineup.

    Avesh Khan 8.5 Cr

Avesh Khan was Delhi’s best bowler as he picked up 14 wickets during the first phase of IPL. Therefore picking him in this lineup is a no brainer.

    Bhuvneshwar Kumar 8.5 Cr

Bhuvneshwar’s swing bowling can trouble the Delhi openers and his brilliant death bowling will certainly come into play against DC.

Prediction for the IPL 2021 match between Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

With Bairstow missing and Natarajan suffering covid, Srh look in a bad spot. Whereas Delhi have been handed a boost as Shreyas Iyer will be back in the starting 11 which will solve their middle-order problem. As a result, Delhi Capitals are expected to win this match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

IPL 2021: SRH vs MI, RR vs CSK and SRH vs CSK matches set to be postponed after COVID-19 scare

IPL 2021 is at a warning state as the games are getting postponed on a regular basis, and many players and staffs have tested positive for COVID-19. There have been appeals as well to cancel the IPL 2021 tournament.

Read: KKR players test positive; CSK report positive COVID reports on staff

SRH vs MI: Tuesday, 4th May

Sunrisers Hyderabad were scheduled to play against Mumbai Indians tonight, but the IPL 2021 match is likely to be postponed just like the previous match between KKR and RCB.

According to sources, SRH player Wriddhiman Saha has tested COVID-19 positive. Therefore, the entire SRH squad has been put in isolation. So the match on Tuesday at Arun Jaitely Stadium will be postponed in all probability.

RR vs CSK: Wednesday, 5th May & SRH vs CSK: Friday, 7th May

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan, along with bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner, have been deemed COVID-19 positive. The rest of the squad, including all the players, who are currently in Delhi, have been in isolation despite testing negative,

After the three positive cases, CSK decided not to go ahead with their match against Rajasthan Royals on 5th May.

A CSK official told The Indian Express: “The coach is asymptomatic. However, as per the BCCI’s Covid protocols, everybody who has come in contact with him will have to undergo a six-day quarantine. We can’t play our next game (against Rajasthan Royals). The BCCI knows about the testing protocols and how many tests need to become negative before an all-clear is given. We have communicated it to the BCCI. They will have to reschedule the game between CSK and Rajasthan Royals.”

Not only the RR vs CSK match will be postponed, but also their next match against SRh on 7th May will have to be postponed if CSK decides to follow a 6-day quarantine.

With the rapid increase in the IPL bi-bubble, there are fears surrounding the continuation of the tournament. The second wave of COVID-19 has ravaged the whole country, and now it has made its impact on the IP as well, which was more likely to happen than not.

The BCCI will have to make a decision soon on whether it is viable to continue with the IPL 2021 tournament amid the COVID-19 scare.

Mumbai Indians are coming off a huge last-ball win against the Chennai Super Kings. Pollard’s heroics enabled them to chase 219 successfully. MI will be hoping to continue their winning form against the lowest placed side in IPL 2021 as well.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are last in the IPL 2021 points table, has found it difficult to find their form. Kane Williamson has been appointed as the captain instead of David Warner. However, they lost to Rajasthan Royals by 55 runs in their last match. They need to quickly pull up their socks and start winning to keep their hopes of qualifying for the IPL play-offs alive.

  • Kane Williamson named new SRH captain for the remainder of the IPL 2021

Kane Williamson named new SRH captain for the remainder of the IPL 2021

Sunrisers Hyderabad named Kane Williamson as their new skipper replacing David Warner for the remainder of the IPL this season.

Today, the decision came before SRH’s match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, May 2 at Arun Jaitley stadium, Delhi. The SRH has already confirmed the change through their statement. The statement read, “Sunrisers Hyderabad would like to announce that Kane Williamson will be taking over the captaincy for tomorrow’s match and the remainder of IPL 2021. The team management has also decided that they will be changing their overseas combination for tomorrow’s match against Rajasthan Royals.”

“The decision has not come lightly as the management respects the enormous impact David Warner has had for the franchise over a number of years. As we face the remainder of the season we are sure David will continue to help us strive for success both on and off the field.”- it added.

SRH is currently bottom of the table with just 2 points from the first 6 games. They lost against CSK recently. After the match, Warner took all the blame on himself for the loss. He said, “I take full responsibility. The way that I batted was obviously very slow.”

“I was hitting a lot of fielders and [was] very, very frustrated… Look I take full responsibility from a batting point of view. I felt [that with] Manish coming back into the team, the way that he batted was exceptional. And obviously Kane [Williamson] and Kedar [Jadhav] towards the back end there, they put some boundaries away and got us to a respectable total. I felt that we were probably just below par from where we were. But yeah look, at the end of the day, I’ll take full responsibility.”- he addded.

After all these SRH management decided to replace Warner with the NZ skipper. Williamson has previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 and 2019 seasons and he was the top scorer in the league with 735 runs in the team’s run to the final of the 2018 season.
