What’s Streaming, Elaborated?
1. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, Infinity Castle (Netflix, 28 Sep): After Muzan traps the Demon Slayer Corps inside the Infinity Castle, the fighters are separated and thrown into battles with the Upper Ranks. Shinobu faces Doma, Zenitsu takes on Kaigaku, and Tanjiro and Giyu fight Akaza. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, with Tamil and Telugu dubs.
2. Jagaddhatri (ZEE5, 28 Sep): A Kannada action thriller series about an undercover intelligence officer leading a double life: a shy, quiet daughter at home and a fearless action-taker outside. Mokshitha Pai stars, directed by Mahesh Sarang.
3. Least Eligible Bachelor (ETVWin, 30 Sep): A Telugu comedy drama series with Harsha Chemudu and Hyper Aadi. A middle-class young man faces heavy pressure to marry, but his unique personality makes him the “least eligible” bachelor around.
4. Romanchakam (Netflix, 1 Oct): In this Telugu rom-com, engineering graduate Anvesh launches a dating app to prove his entrepreneurial skills. Ironically, he can’t win over the woman he loves, who keeps rejecting and blocking him, while his startup collapses. Stars Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar.
5. Sardar 2 (Prime Video, 1 Oct): Karthi returns as veteran officer Chandra Bose, teaming up with his son Vijay Prakash to stop a mercenary group from releasing a biochemical weapon called Doku. With SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath, directed by PS Mithran. The film also touches on antibiotic overuse and bacterial resistance.
6. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit (JioHotstar, 2 Oct): Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju star in Girish AD’s Malayalam rom-com. Ashley returns from Ireland and reunites with Justin, the older man she once loved. Family opposition and their age gap pulled them apart, and it’s now a question of whether they can reconcile.
7. #Love (Netflix, 2 Oct): Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi star in this Tamil rom-com series from Balaji Mohan. Tara and Matthew are rival founders of dating platforms, and their own romance tests their theories about whether chemistry or compatibility matters more.
8. Mother Promise (ZEE5, 2 Oct): A Kannada action comedy directed by and starring Poornachandra Mysore alongside Dhananjaya. A reckless man loses everything after a disastrous bet and goes on the run, only to have his mother join the chase, not to save him but to track him down herself.
9. Sun Singer (SunNXT, 4 Oct): A Tamil reality singing show with 20 young contestants from across Tamil Nadu who survived multi-stage auditions. Anthony Dasan, Binni Krishnakumar and Mano feature.
