Buy this smartphone only if you are a OnePlus fan because the specs are nothing extra-ordinary and for it, I feel you are paying at least Rs.5k extra and the absence of an AMOLED display is very hard to swallow.
Also, if you spend a bit more for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 which I loved using and reviewing is a more complete mid-range device than this “Lite variant” which is a more of a cut-down version on very essential features. You can though buy this Nord CE 2 Lite only if you love OnePlus phones and need OxygenOS as your priority except that this is more of an ordinary budget device.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is a very-balanced mid-ranged smartphone which for its specs could have been a bit cheaper, however, if you opt for it you won’t be making a mistake. Though doesn’t have a glass back or a metal frame but has a gloss plastic design built out of CG5, with a clever design element that makes it attractive for everyday usage.
So, if you are someone who is looking to buy a new “OnePlus device” at budget then the Nord CE 2 5G is a nice option that has some good upgrades over its predecessor. A very usable, reliable and practical smartphone this is with good performance, decent cameras and a great battery/charging experience.

Now, should you buy this OnePlus Nord 2T for an effective price of ₹27,499? Well, the design of the smartphone is alightly improved, cleaner but its your own perspective that if you like the new camera design or not. For me, the design is ok, looks like a mid-range design but is certainly better the OnePlus 10R in terms of look I would say.
As I said in the key 5 points of this Nord 2T, this is a very well-balanced device I would say and anyone looking for an affordable OnePlus device in the price range of Rs.25k can go for this one comfortably. However, OnePlus does need to address those performance issues and tweak its camera further with updates, but overall, this is a good phone to use everyday.

This is how it is, in 2022, no Alert Slider, plastic body, mediocre cameras but with blazing-fast performance, however, the consistency along with the practicality of the OnePlus 10R is totally missing. I still think OnePlus 9RT was a great phone for the price and I hope OnePlus sticks to the previous design philosophy rather than doing experiments because it still has a good brand image among fans so please don’t ruin it.

Personally, I had no problem using it on a daily basis even though this lacks the iconic OnePlus things like alert slider, curved display, near stock OxygenOS but if you ask a person who has not been a fan of these then it won’t be any issue for you.

You will like its reliability, its display and obviously still being cheaper than iPhone Pros and Samsung S22 Ultra, it delivers high-end performance along with a display you can flaunt with. While I do admit that OnePlus needs to work hard on making the camera better, keep improving more rather than just increasing the price each year. However, the foundation of OnePlus remains strong though they have bit deviated now from delivering the best specs for the price concept and reserved the best in their pricier flagship.

OnePlus is expected to launch a bunch of new devices in India including the OnePlus Nord 3, Nord Watch and more Nord devices soon. Now, the Global technology brand OnePlus on Monday officially announced to bring its first smartwatch under the Nord series in the Indian market.
The company has shared a teaser image and confirmed the launch of the upcoming Nord Watch in the country soon. The company already has a OnePlus Watch that is currently priced at Rs 13,999. Being a “Nord” product, Nord Watch is expected to have a highly aggressive price tag. The Nord Watch will be the first Nord-branded smartwatch.

Specifications and pricing-wise, we can expect the Nord Watch to be an entry-level smartwatch, sitting below the more premium Watch offering. The Nord Watch will have a rectangular dial and a button on the right side. The teaser shared by the company showcases the upcoming smartwatch in a black colour option. Though, we can expect the company to launch the Nord Watch in other colour options as well.
The Nord Watch will have a 240×280 display as per the leaked information. It is said to offer a heart-rate sensor and a blood-oxygen monitoring sensor. It is also certain to have heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, workout tracking, dedicated exercise monitoring, daily activity tracking, and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity, similar to other smartwatches and bands.
Going by the leaked information, the upcoming Nord Watch will not use OnePlus Health as the companion app. Instead, the company has developed an all-new N-Health app for the Nord Watch. We can also expect the Nord watch to feature a SpO2 sensor, given that even the OnePlus Band comes with it.
OnePlus’s Watches are based on RTOS or Real-time operating systems. They can seamlessly communicate with “smartphones, audio peripherals, smart wearable devices, and even TVs, making smart control over all these devices simple and intuitive,” according to the company. As per the leak, a OnePlus Nord smartwatch appeared on the BIS certification website with model number OPBBE221.
It is also speculated to have a unique-looking strap and is going to be available in three colours: Back, White and Gold. Since this is a Nord branded product, it will be targeted at the masses and will be a budget segment product. We can expect it to be priced between Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000.
The Chinese smartphone giant had already become a global phenomenon but for the last few years they have slowed down a bit after Carl Pei left and the company got Oppofied. However, it’s still out there making smartphones, from budget to high-end, the Never Settle motto is still carried out but honestly it has lost that X-factor.
Previously, OnePlus had a huge fanbase and people loved its phones for their price, features and X-factor but slowly its merging with Oppo has made a difference. Design is Simplified
The design of this OnePlus 10T has been inspired by the 10 Pro flagship, now, this is subjective I would say but the new colors and glass back is the classic OnePlus we have known. One thing I did like is that the weight balance has been done quite well.
Holding the 10T is really easy even while using it with one hand or even carrying it with you anywhere. I found it more light to use than the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro and the overall design is quite good, subtle & simple.
Also, at the back of the phone, due to the glass finish, it gathers fingerprints, so do use a cover.
Gorgeous Display
Talking about the display, the first thing you would notice is that there is no curved display, looking more like a generic Oppo phone. However, in terms of display quality, I have no complaints as such because the 120Hz AMOLED display is really smooth and color accurate.
Much like other Oppo and OnePlus devices, the display is indeed flagship level, so for daily usage, binge-watching and taking it outdoors isn’t a problem. Also, gamers will enjoy playing on this device and the high refresh rates do help when needed.
However, one thing I have been concerned about on all these new OnePlus phones is the quality of display because there’s no Gorilla Glass protection rating officially. Also, I see the screen is not very susceptible to falls, so, do use screen protection positively.
Reliable Performance
Coming to performance, here you won’t have to complain much because the performance of these OnePlus phones has been consistent and reliable for the past few years now. The new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 gives a fluid Android experience paired with matured OxygenOS.
Here we have the 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant with the latest specs, making it really powerful for day-to-day usage and gaming as well. Using this OnePlus 10T as my daily driver never did I feel any lag or stutter even with hundreds of apps installed, performance has always been reliable on OnePlus phones no doubt.
As you see in the benchmarks, here in Geekbench 5, even while 3 continuous tests, the OnePlus 10T 5G didn’t lose its peak performance as you see with a high score of 1289 points in single-core and 3758 points in multi-core, indeed flagship-level scores. The new TSMC’s 4nm process does make a difference because it’s much more efficient, to be honest, to get the best performance, use the Performance mode.
In AnTuTu tests, you see the new OnePlus 10T easily scores up to 100,000 points, goes to show how much raw performance you get with this smartphone. The Adreno 730 GPU really performs well whether you play games or use it for work with 6377 points in Compute benchmark and 2696 points in the Wild Life Extreme benchmark.
As you see in the CPU throttle tests, when you push the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 to a low number of threads in 15 minutes you see a drop up to 90% performance which is great even when you compare it to the OnePlus 10 Pro we reviewed previously. However, when you stretch it to almost 50 threads a second for 15 minutes you will see a drop in performance up to 49% which is bad.
The new Vapor chamber cooling system does make an impact because it gets less heated up than the OnePlus 10 Pro surprisingly and weighs lighter. So, with a larger cooling area and good heat dissipation, the thermal performance of this OnePlus 10T 5G is indeed flagship level, very helpful while gaming and intensive applications.
The camera is decent not Flagship level
In terms of the rear camera, you have the same 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS support, the same as found on the OnePlus 10R. However, thanks to a better Snapdragon chipset, the ISP and image processing are quite good resulting in crisp photos with low noise as compared to what we saw with the MediaTek-powered OnePlus 10R.
The ultra-wide camera is also good with a gimmicky 2MP macro lens, good for nothing, overall giving you good shots but lacking that X-factor. With two software updates since I got the OnePlus 10T, the camera performance has seen good improvements, at good lighting conditions, the portrait shots are quite good along with other day-time photos emerge pretty well with this device.
The OIS does help to stabilize videos and is a must-have for Rs.50k price phone, however, if you have some more money I would suggest the OnePlus 10 Pro any day because of its better camera performance. The colors gathered by this OnePlus 10T are good undoubtedly but sometimes it’s not reliable as the OnePlus 10 Pro is. Other camera modes like Tilt-Shift mode, Long Exposure, Dual-View Video and more really help make the most out of the OnePlus 10T’s camera.
The videos taken from the rear camera are quite good whether you shoot during the day or at night, the OnePlus 10T 5G’s videos come out sharp with proper focusing.
In the front camera department, you have the same 16MP camera that captures decent selfies and for an everyday user, it will easily suffice all your needs. Next time, OnePlus has to improve its camera performance and bring that X-factor I feel and the telephoto lens at this price range should have been there.
Top-Notch Connectivity & I/O
The new OnePlus 10T 5G is a true 5G smartphone with all the 5G bands which will be used in India even better than the OnePlus 10 Pro. Also with the latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6, NFC and Bluetooth 5.2, you will face no issues connecting to the internet or using multiple Bluetooth devices along with the smartphone.
The Wi-Fi speeds along with Bluetooth connection have always been reliable on these OnePlus phones and this OnePlus 10T 5G is no different.
Good Audio/Microphone
Much like the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro, this OnePlus 10T also comes with Dual Stereo Speakers with Noise cancellation support. This results in a great audio experience while watching something or during casual music listening and being a music freak I used it as a speaker quite often, but never did it fail me with crisp sound output.
A lot of OEMs do skip on providing good microphones on even costly smartphones but this is not the case with the OnePlus 10T which has proper microphones to help you while you call, record and even play games. Never did I face any call drops or complaints from the receiving end for the sound quality or as such, so, for those who take a lot of calls will easily suffice from this OnePlus 10T 5G.
OxygenOS mixed with ColorOS but clean
Yes, you still have OxygenOS 12, not the same as it used to be with a lot of elements borrowed from ColorOS but I am glad that Pete Lau didn’t kill the OxygenOS entirely. With time-to-time updates, the OnePlus 10T will never disappoint you in terms of software experience and as I use OnePlus phones mostly, it feels much better than using a Vivo, Xiaomi or other devices.
Insane Fast Charging and Battery Life
Yes, OnePlus has brought the insane 160W SUPERVOOC charger to this OnePlus 10T which ensures a full charge within 20 minutes, and 10-100% in almost 15 minutes. This is a real convenience but the charger is almost a brick yet is very helpful when you need a quick charge.
In terms of battery life, OnePlus has increased the battery size to 4,800 mAh with two 2,400 mAh batteries for improved fast charging, however, for this OnePlus has removed the iconic alert slider which I do really miss on this OnePlus 10T. On average you should get a day of battery life with heavy usage and for a regular user, the battery life is quite good.

Finally, comes the question should you spend your money on the new OnePlus 10T 5G or not knowing its pros and cons, well, it depends on you. Personally, I had no problem using it on a daily basis even though this lacks the iconic OnePlus things like alert slider, curved display, near stock OxygenOS but if you ask a person who has not been a fan of these then it won’t be any issue for you.
For those who want a great display, decent design, and incredible performance on Android, this is the smartphone you should look for. Apart from launching multiple earbuds in a short span like the Nord Buds and Nord Buds CE, the brand is focused to bring more budget-centric products under the Nord subbrand.
As expected, OnePlus has worked on improving the bass of the earphones, thanks to the 9.2mm dynamic drivers and a 0.42cc sound cavity for louder and better sound quality. Much like other earphones, you have an inline mic with button controls to control your calls, and media and also use it for your voice assistant.
Interestingly, like their OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 neckband, the earphones will have magnets to stick to each other for better portability and can be used for handy audio controls – clip them to pause and unclip to play, similar functionalities on neckbands you notice.

The famous tipster Mukul Sharma recently shared a post on his Twitter account that mentioned that the OnePlus could soon enter the monitor market. It is the first time OnePlus has come across a leak that could soon enter the monitor market.
This news is fascinating to the OnePlus lover planning to buy a new monitor from other brands such as Samsung, Sony, and others. Moreover, the blogger also mentioned that the company is gearing up to launch a new monitor at least 24-inch in size in India. And it is expected to launch in India in the next few months this year. As per the latest tweet by Sharma, the 24-inch monitor has been listed on the BIS certification website, hinting that it will arrive soon. As we know, the Rs.2k price segment for TWS earbuds is one of the most heated segments, especially for people who want a reliable offering to last for a few years down the line.
While we have personally reviewed a lot of Rs.1k TWS earbuds launched in recent years, suddenly the market has taken a shift from its Rs.2k price segment. Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, OnePlus has tried to make it look a bit different than the Nord Buds, now looking more tapering and sharing the same design language as Airpods. Personally, I find this design much more usable over the regular Nord Buds but obviously, this is more of a subjective kind of thing.
It is even lightweight which is great for everyday users but the outer case looks much more generic than before and has similarities with the Realme and Oppo earbuds. However, the buds themselves are lighter but look generic and cheap though but are functional as well as easy to fit into your ears.
Considering the build quality, it is satisfying to open and close the magnetic lid of the case with a nice thud sound. Personally, this pill-shaped design is what I like but that completely depends upon you, however, in terms of design, build, comfort and overall experience wise this is a nice option for budget TWS earbuds seekers.
Audio Quality
Coming to the audio part, having tested out both Nord Buds, OPPO Enco Air2 Pro and of course this new Nord Buds CE, all of these almost sound the same as they have been made by the same manufacturer. With a 13.4 mm Titanium-coated dynamic driver, it really sounds great for both everyday music sessions as well as when you are watching movies or casual Netflix sessions.
I like the fact that the sound is soothing and not too loud to the ears, also with the HeyMelody app there are different modes to fiddle with while enriching the tone as per your mood. However, it lacks features like Dolby Atmos support you have on the usual Nord Buds, still for daily music and binge watching the sound is full as well as adequate.
Also, expecting noise cancellation at this price range is tough though but with a lightweight design, and good medium to high tones, for an average user, the TWS earbuds from OnePlus will do the job.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, you have Bluetooth 5.2 with a 10m connectivity range, which is good to have on a budget TWS earbuds like this OnePlus Nords Buds CE. The swift connectivity because of the OnePlus Fast Pair is good and acts as a good substitute for Google Fast Pair, as soon as you open the lids of your Nord Buds CE, your smartphone is connected.
As you see, you get a wide range of options right from your Bluetooth settings if it’s a OnePlus phone, here it’s the new OnePlus 10T 5G, however, for some controls on third-party smartphones you have to download the HeyMelody app. With a lot of customizations and tweaks, you can enhance the sound along with controlling other earbuds settings.
Microphone & Call Quality
If you do end up talking a lot, is this Nord Buds CE for you? For taking frequent calls and attending meetings often you need a reliable microphone which a lot of manufacturers skip even at this price segment. However, here it is not the case because I comfortably attended a lot of calls daily and had no issues in terms of quality or even latency.
My voice at the other end also sounded accurate and so I even attended meetings with it easily but one con I found is that you cannot connect this Nord Buds CE to multiple devices at the same time, which is not the same as the regular Nord Buds. Overall, in terms of microphone and call quality, I would say I did really enjoy using this set of TWS earbuds.
Battery Life
One thing I did notice of this Nord Buds CE is that having a considerable low battery than the Nord Buds, which to be fair lasted me for a good amount of time, this one has somewhat less battery life on paper and indeed it lasted me lower than the Nord Buds (10 hours lower).
This earbuds didn’t last me for a week and I had to charge two times a week for an average user like me to use for 3-4 hours of playtime, so got around 15-17 hours of overall playtime, which is decent. Having been capped to 4 hours of playtime per earbud, I miss the 7 hours long playtime with the Nord Buds, however, I never had a lot of issues because this Nord Buds CE charges very fast.
Verdict
So should you go for this new OnePlus Nord Buds CE for a price of ₹2,299? Well, considering all the benefits that OnePlus is providing you for the price, and reliability of branded earbuds, this offers good value compared to the rest of the competition. With well-connected technology and sound quality, this Nord Buds CE is a good option for budget TWS earbuds seekers.
On sale you can eventually get it for Rs.2k and for the price, this is a real value offering which does miss some good features but is able to provide the best quality in terms of what specs it’s providing you with. For people who need a reliable TWS earbuds for everyday usage, listening to music for long hours or taking calls from your office frequently, this could easily be your next buy.
OnePlus has always been upfront to providing brand new software updates along with its sister company Oppo, so, the giant has recently launched the affordable flagship OnePlus 10T 5G to lure customers towards itself by providing great value for the price. The Indian government has reportedly called a meeting exclusively to take a call on this issue. Prominent industry stakeholders will be involved in talks before the authorities come to a conclusion, the meeting will take place on the 17th of August.
As per PTI, the Centre is looking to remove different chargers and the reason for this is so that the total electronic waste in the country comes down. In 2020, India contributed 1,014,961 tonnes of e-waste in the FY 2019-2020 so it is a huge issue in the country.
The European Union has been urging tech brands to adopt a universal charging port standard with the USB Type-C cable, this rule could come into force by 2024. “If companies can serve in Europe and the US, why cannot they do it in India? Portable electronic devices like smartphones and tablets should have a common charger,” an official with knowledge of the matter stated.
As of now Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, and other premier brands have switched to the USB Type-C port quite a bit ago. Apple is the only smartphone brand that makes high-end devices that is yet to adhere to this standard as it has the Lightning Port for its iPhones.
Oppo and OnePlus have completely stopped selling smartphones and smartwatches in Germany after a court decision ruled in favor of Nokia, which sued over two Standard-Essential Patents or a SEP.

Oppo’s website did not have a single smartphone listed but OnePlus still had their entire smartphone catalog but the ‘Buy’ option was disabled. You can only buy headphones and other accessories. As per JUVE Patent, this was a voluntary move as the court delivered its decision on Friday and Nokia would not have had a considerable amount of time to enforce a complete ban on sales.
OnePlus’ Director of Communications, Spenser Blank released the following statement, “We are actively working with the relevant parties to resolve the ongoing legal matter. While sales and marketing of the relevant products are on hold, OnePlus remains committed to the German market and will continue our operations. Meanwhile, OnePlus users in Germany can continue to enjoy our products and related services such as regular software updates and our after-sales service as before.”
OnePlus and Oppo blame Nokia for demanding an “unreasonably high fee” for the two patents that it owns. In 2018, Nokia and Oppo had inked a multi-year patent agreement but their relationship began to disintegrate in 2021. The two SEPs that are the reason for the current lawsuit are EP19173705 and EP07826610 respectively. Oppo has the option to appeal the court’s decision which it will in all likelihood do.
As of now, this decision is restricted to Germany, Oppo and OnePlus websites in other European nations remain unaffected as of now. It is not clear if the two brands will continue to ship phones for orders that they may have received before the verdict or issue a refund to customers.
