    Mahindra XUV400: Specifications

Last time, the teaser provides an overall concept of the XUV400 Electric front fascia. On looking at the teaser, it might be reduced instantly like the predecessor XUV300 Electric concept that had showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The car holds quite a familiar headlight, and also gets Bloomberg-shaped LED DRLs that are very nice.

In the teaser, the main highlight is the profile of XUV400. The car holds Ssangyong Tivoli’s exact length of 4.2m that had decreased to git a 4m constraint to become fit into the B-segment. The EVs don’t benefit from the hack anymore. The EV has its retained dimensions. Apart from its 4.2m length, XUV400 Electric comes with a much more proportionate and attractive look.

The mentioned lengths just permit Mahindra to provide a bigger boot that was the Achilles Heal of XUV300.  The car also inherits 17” wheels from its predecessor XUV300. In XUV300 there were not any AC vents but they will be available in XUV400 Electric. The brand-new spy video from PowerStroke PS confirms the presence of the sunroof in the latest Electric XUV 400.

The new XUV400 Electric will get NMC cells originating from LG Chem and also considered to be superior to LFP cells that have been used on the tough rival Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max.

Maruti and Toyota post strong growth in Automotive sector for July 2022

Investors in the automotive industry can now finally rejoice because Tata Motors experienced a slight sequential dip, while Toyota, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki all recorded strong financial results. Nearly two-thirds of India’s four-wheeler sales in July were collectively accounted for by these automakers.

Most auto manufacturers reported good sales growth in July after facing rising commodity prices and fuel price shocks, with Kia and MG Motor posting declines of 8% and 11%, respectively, from June.

Given that roughly one in every two cars sold in July belongs to Maruti, the company’s sales figures are even more astonishing. The majority of Maruti sales, or close to half, were in the compact segment. Automobiles like the Baleno, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, and others are included in this class.

The Alto and S-Presso in the compact sector, as well as the Brezza, Ertgia, S-Cross, and XL6, remained in high demand during the month.

Toyota, the largest manufacturer of automobiles in Japan, had its best month ever, with sales that were up 50% from July 2021.

Its most popular vehicles throughout the month were the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Glanza. In the future months, the carmaker might achieve even greater results thanks to the Ryder.

Tata Motors passed the 4,000 unit threshold in the segment thanks to the introduction of the long-range Nexon EV, known as the Nexon EV Max, as well as the growing popularity of EVs.

However, as a whole, Tata’s July sales are slightly down by 1%, mostly as a result of a decline in its sales of commercial vehicles.

Bajaj and TVS, two-wheeler manufacturers, both reported minor sequential growth; however, Bajaj had a year-over-year loss due to a decline in exports.

The cheap CT100, Platina, and the Pulsar remained to be Bajaj’s top-selling models.

Mahindra open to investing in EV battery cell maker, says CEO

India’s Mahindra & Mahindra could consider investing in a battery-cell company to meet future electrification needs, its CEO said, after the company raised funds for its new electric vehicle (EV) unit at a $9.1 billion valuation.

Mahindra on Thursday raised $250 million from British International Investment for the unit and is exploring a partnership with Volkswagen AG to source such EV components as batteries and motors.

While the Volkswagen deal would meet Mahindra’s “short to medium term” battery needs, Mahindra CEO Anish Shah said the company was open to looking at some sort of “investment with a global leader” in the battery-cell space if it needed to secure future supplies.

Mahindra open to investing in EV battery cell maker, says CEO

“Our intent is not to get into (manufacturing) batteries,” Shah said in an interview. “There are people who do it very well. We can partner with them; we could be a co-investor in some form. We don’t need to own it and run it.” Mahindra plans to launch five electric sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) over the next few years. These models are expected to contribute up to 30%, or about 200,000 units, of its total annual SUV sales by March 2027.

Automakers are also wary of situations like the pandemic semiconductor shortage that lead to production stoppages. Many companies still face order backlogs because of supply problems. “To counter new entrants, existing players are using leading-edge technologies to have improved battery, superior IVI system, and higher levels of ADAS in their EV models as major selling points,” Mandal added.

Mahindra open to investing in EV battery cell maker, says CEO

Mahindra’s plans come as Indian firms search to capitalise on billions of {dollars} price of incentives being supplied by the federal government to construct EVs, a part of a coverage to satisfy nationwide local weather change and carbon discount objectives.

India’s EV market, dominated by native carmaker Tata Motors, represents only one per cent of the nation’s annual gross sales of about 3 million automobiles. The federal government needs this to develop to 30 per cent by 2030.

  • Mahindra XUV 400 Electric SUV launch timeline out:

Mahindra XUV 400 Electric SUV launch timeline out:

Mahindra will be launching the all-electric version of the XUV300. The automaker will be launching the XUV400 EV in September of this year and the brand has revealed that it has received a massive amount of Rs. 1,925 crores from British International Investments for a new electric vehicle company. The new company from Mahindra is valued at nearly 9 billion dollars and its debut product will be the XUV 400 EV.

Mahindra XUV400 EV will be pitted against the TATA Nexon EV:

The XUV 300 is a little under 4 meters in length for availing excise duty benefits, the 400 is expected to be a bit longer and will measure in at 4.2 meters. This is largely due because the government does not have as many excise benefits based on the length of electric cars.

Given the XUV400 is larger, it will be more comfortable and spacious than the Nexon EV. This will lead the new car to compete against the Kona, MG eZS, and other cars. The car will be priced at Rs. 15 lakhs and will offer a range of 375 KM for the top-tier variant while the lower-end variants will offer 250-300 KM of range per charge.

    Mahindra XUV 400
    Mahindra XUV 400

The XUV400 will arrive with a similar set of features as the XUV300 and a bunch of other cars like the KUV100, electric versions of the XUV700, and the Thar could also be rolled out from the new EV company.

The Indian automaker has had a big head start over Tata Motors and other car makers in India when it came to EVs but the carmaker did not take much advantage of it until now. The latest electric company, valued at a 9 billion dollar valuation will drive the automaker’s EV blitz.

Similar to Mahindra, TATA Motors will hive off its electric vehicle business, in October 2021, TPG will commit a billion dollars into TATA’s business at a valuation of over 9,000 crores. This competition will benefit the customers immensely.
