    Jamshedpur FC bolsters its armoury with the addition of French playmaker Jeremy Manzorro

    Jamshedpur FC have completed the signing of French midfielder Jeremy Manzorro on a one year contract. 

    The Frenchman has played at a host of clubs, and arguably spent his most successful years in Kazakhstan, where he won the Kazakh League twice, in 2021 with Tobol Kostanay, and again in 2022 with FC Astana, and also won the Kazakh Cup in 2021.

    A winner in his own right, Manzorro also lifted the Lithuanian A League trophy in 2017 with FK Suduva Marijampole, and the Lithuanian Cup the following year, playing a significant part in his team’s run to the Championship. 

    If that wasn’t all, the tenacious midfielder has also had a substantial impact in continental competition, managing 8 appearances in the UEFA Europa League and 4 appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League. He will now look to stamp his authority on the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) with the Men of Steel.

    “This is a club that has already proven that it’s capable of winning the ISL Shield and it was a major motivation behind me joining Jamshedpur FC,” said Manzorro on joining Jamshedpur FC.

    “Some of the best fans in the country are in Jamshedpur and it wasn’t a tough decision for me to decide to come and play here. I’m looking forward to working with the Head Coach and the staff and taking this team to new heights.”

    Jamshedpur FC bolsters its armoury with the addition of French playmaker Jeremy Manzorro

    Manzorro has joined the club from Polish side Sandecja Nowy Sącz.  The 31-year- old attacking midfielder can also play in different positions across the park, making his versatility an asset for the Men of Steel. Born in Villeurbanne, Lyon in France, Manzorro made his name at current Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims, where he started out in the youth team before making his senior team debut in 2011.

    “Jeremy is a dynamic midfielder that is versatile and electric. He is going to be hard for teams to handle and has previously been the player of the year in Kazakhstan,” said Jamshedpur FC Head Coach, Scott Cooper.

    “He comes with good experience and is very technical, making him more than a handful for teams in the league to deal with.”

    Jamshedpur FC sign midfielder Imran Khan on a two-year deal

    Jamshedpur FC have completed the signing of Imran Khan from NorthEast United FC on a two-year contract.  

    Imran made 37 appearances for the Highlanders in the Hero ISL, scoring twice and providing four assists during his time at the club.  

    The 28-year-old is a versatile player capable of operating across midfield and has been successfully utilised on the wings as well as in attacking midfield in recent seasons. 

    “Joining Jamshedpur FC is a big moment for me in my career,” Imran said. 

    “I have learnt a lot at my previous clubs and feel like I am ready to help Jamshedpur once again win trophies. The city has a history of producing some great Indian players over the years, and I’m confident that this is the right step for me in my progression. I’m excited to finally play in front of the amazing fans and show them what I am capable of.” 

    Jamshedpur FC sign midfielder Imran Khan on a two-year deal

    Imran was born in Manipur and began his professional playing career at Mohammedan Sporting Club in the I-League and made a move to the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) in 2018 with FC Goa. Following loan stints at Gokulam Kerala and Mohun Bagan, Imran joined NEROCA FC in the I-League in 2020, before returning to the Hero ISL with NorthEast United FC. 

    “We’re delighted to have Imran come to us,” said Jamshedpur FC Head Coach, Scott Cooper. 

    “He’s a very technical and versatile player in midfield and brings a wand of a left foot and a very good attitude so he will fit in well with the plan we have. He is hard-working and comes with some Hero ISL experience and will flourish with us.”

    ISL: Jamshedpur FC sign Serbian International Alen Stevanovic on a two-year deal

    Jamshedpur FC have completed the signing of Serbian International Alen Stevanovic on a two-year contract ahead of the 2023-24 season.

    The 32-year-old playmaker has enjoyed a glittering career so far, starting out with the Inter Milan youth team in Italy, and being handed his debut in the senior team by current AS Roma Head Coach, Jose Mourinho.

    Stevanovic was a part of the Inter squad that won the treble in 2009-10 under Mourinho, with the club lifting the Serie A Scudetto, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League winners’ trophies. A successful spell in Italian football continued for the Swiss-born Serbian, as he played for the likes of Torino FC, Palermo, SSC Bari and Spezia. 

    “It’s an honour for me to be a part of Jamshedpur FC. I have heard a lot about the club and its fans and I’m excited to finally come to the city and play,” Alen Stevanovic said on joining the Men of Steel.

    “The club were previous ISL Shield Winners, and I genuinely believe that with the support from fans and the right attitude and approach, we will be able to get back to the top once again. I’m looking forward to working with the coaching staff and with my experience and the team’s overall quality, I’m sure we can get the club back to where it belongs.”

    Jamshedpur FC sign Serbian International Alen Stevanovic on a two-year deal

    A perennial winner, Alen lifted the Serie B crown at Palermo and enjoyed Serbian Super Liga (2016-17) and Serbian Cup (2015-16, 2016-17) triumphs at Partizan Belgrade, and has also represented the Serbian National Team on multiple occasions at the World Cup Qualifiers. Most recently, he led FK IMT to the Serbian First League trophy in the 2022-23 season

    Known for his silky touch and ability to see passes that others would miss, Stevanovic has all the qualities needed to bring more goals to the Jamshedpur FC tally. 

    “Alen is a phenomenal signing for Jamshedpur FC,” said our Head Coach, Scott Cooper.

    “He was wanted by clubs across Europe and Asia and at only 32 years of age this is an incredible signing for us which came down to our close relationship with Serbia of both our Assistant Coach and me. 

    “Alen will bring a massive amount of quality and experience to our team. While he has such a prestigious background, he is also a very humble person and a top professional. We are delighted that Alen chose Jamshedpur as his first Asian club, and our fans will really enjoy his qualities and desire to win.”

    Hezirdan Ramadani and Dragan Draskovic to join Scott Cooper’s Coaching Staff at Jamshedpur FC

    Jamshedpur FC have brought in Hezirdan Ramadani, who will play the role of Assistant Coach for the upcoming season, and Dragan Draskovic as the club’s new Goalkeeping Coach. The duo will join the Coaching Staff led by new Head Coach Scott Cooper, who has signed a two-year contract at Jamshedpur FC.

    Hezirdan Ramadani, better known as Kiza Ramadani, started his coaching career in 1999 and won the Serbia and Montenegro Cup with FK Zelenik. He worked in Thailand with Scott Cooper at FC Ubon Ratchathani, whom they got promoted from the third division Thai league to the first division.

    Kiza also led the Philippine national team alongside Cooper, where the duo won the most points in the history of the Philippines’ appearance at the Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup.

    “After many years of successful work with Scott Cooper, I agreed with his proposal and invitation to accept the offer for Jamshedpur FC because we believe that the club is very well organized, and has very high quality at all levels, both in terms of human resources and in the playing staff,” Ramadani said.

    “We sincerely believe that we can win the Indian Super League, which is a big challenge for us and an incentive to give our best. I look forward to my arrival, all the challenges ahead and the future success of Jamshedpur FC.”

    Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Scott Cooper also had some very kind words for his Assistant Coach: “Kiza has been my long-term assistant and we work closely and effectively together and always have. Ours is a relationship built on trust and a shared drive to succeed. Kiza comes with huge experience and His tactical and technical knowledge is a huge advantage for Jamshedpur and all players will benefit greatly from his vast football abilities. He will be absolutely vital to the team and will prove to be a critical part of the team.”

    Joining Ramadani is Dragan Draskovic. Dragan started working as a Coach from 2009 at FK Lovćen in Montenegro till the year 2018. During that period, the club won multiple trophies including the National Cup in the 2013-14 season. He was also a Coach with the U19 Montenegrin National Team around this time.

    From 2018 to 2022, Dragan began coaching at FK Podgorica, where the club attained fourth place in the league and played in the qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League.

    “I am very happy to be a member of this club,” Draskovic said. 

    “I heard a lot of nice things about the club, the fans and the city. I had the opportunity to watch some matches of the Indian Super League, where I saw that there were a lot of quality players.”

    “Dragan is a highly rated GK Coach who has worked at the top level around the world,” Scott Cooper said.

    “His abilities will greatly benefit our talented and experienced goalkeepers. Dragan is a diligent, humble and hardworking professional who will bring so much value to our club.”

    ISL: Jamshedpur FC appoint Scott Cooper as new Head Coach on a two-year contract

    Jamshedpur FC have appointed Irish-English manager Scott Cooper as the club’s new Head Coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.

    Scott’s major success has come in Southeast Asia. In Thailand, the 52-year-old has managed clubs such as Buriram United, Muangthong United, Ubon UMT United, Police Tero, and most recently, Port FC. 

    Cooper had a major impact at Thai club Buriram United, leading the club to the AFC Champions League quarterfinals and an Asia ranking of 7. No Thai team had gotten out of the group stages of the competition for 15 years. Under Cooper’s tutelage, as many as 19 players developed into senior national team players in Thailand, highlighting his superior ability to groom and improve young players.

    “It is an honour and a privilege to join Jamshedpur FC as their new head coach. The club has previously won the ISL Shield trophy, and I believe it’s time for us to get back to the top once again,” Cooper said on joining the club.

    Cooper has over 20 years of coaching experience, starting out his managerial career at Chester City and making his way up to former English Premier League Champions Leicester City, where he managed the U15 team in 2011.

    “The city of Jamshedpur has a rich history and footballing culture with the prestigious Tata Football Academy (TFA) nurturing talent and creating top Indian footballers since time immemorial, and one of my aims is to develop young players and make them ready to compete at the highest level,” Cooper continued.

    “I’m looking forward to the opportunity of being in front of our loyal fans at the Furnace and giving them something to cheer about with the end goal of once again becoming the best team in the country.”

    In 2018, Cooper took over as Philippines Head Coach and led the Azkals to their highest FIFA World Cup qualifiers points total and to the second round of World Cup qualification. Under him, the team also reached the semifinals of the AFF Suzuki Cup.

    His attacking style of play and high-pressing football has been especially impressive, and the Jamshedpur FC faithful can be rest assured that this new brand of football has all the recipes for success at the Furnace.

    Jamshedpur FC CEO, Mukul Choudhari, also expressed his excitement to have Scott Cooper lead the Men of Steel in the coming season.

    Jamshedpur FC are all set to take on Bengaluru FC in the semifinals of the Hero Super Cup 2023 at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on Friday, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. The winner enters the finals of the Hero Super Cup, with an opportunity to win silverware and book a spot in the AFC Cup playoff match against I-League side Gokulam Kerala FC on April 29.

    With a lot on the line, Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Aidy Boothroyd highlighted the positives in his team’s display so far and the challenge that lies ahead in the form of Bengaluru FC. 

    “I’m very pleased with the group stages,” Aidy said in the pre-match press conference.

    “But it’s finished now, and it means nothing. We’ve been working as hard as we could, scored 11 goals, pleased with our attacking play and overall, I’ve really enjoyed the tournament and looking forward to the next game.

    “Bengaluru are a good team with a good manager. They won the Durand Cup and got to two semifinals so they must be respected which our opponents always are but we have to come up with a plan to nullify their strengths and exploit their weaknesses, so we’ll be working hard to do that.”

    Jamshedpur have indeed been flying high heading into the last four, becoming the only side to gather nine points out of nine in the Super Cup group stages and scoring the highest number of goals in the tournament with 11.

    But after a tough Hero ISL campaign, there is no rest for the weary, and Boothroyd made it clear that his side’s focus is well and truly on going all the way in the Hero Super Cup.

    “It’s really important to finish well in the Super Cup because we want to win every single game we play and quite rightly so we didn’t have a good start in the Hero ISL but I think we’ve picked up and been very good, scored a lot of goals, won a lot of games and really we don’t want the season to end it’s really important for us to finish on a high.”

    Fresh off a win in their final Group C match against Gokulam Kerala FC, the Men of Steel are raring to go against a tough side in Bengaluru FC in a clash that promises to be an exciting one. 

    The action kicks off at 7 PM on Friday, April 21, and fans can watch it live on TV on Sony Sports Ten 2 and stream it live on Fancode.

    Jamshedpur FC beat ATK Mohun Bagan 3-0 in Hero Super Cup 2023

    Jamshedpur FC take down ATK Mohun Bagan 3-0 to move to the top of Group C 

    After defeating FC Goa, the Men of Steel were back in action and beat ATK Mohun Bagan in their second game of the Hero Super Cup to register another big victory. A brace from Boris Singh in the first half and a goal in the dying moments by substitute Harry Sawyer awarded the Men of Steel a well-earned win.

    The Jamshedpur squad got the game underway and kept the Mariners’ defence on their toes in the first 20 minutes with multiple attacks down the middle but they managed to keep the threat at bay. 

    As soon as the game reached its first quarter mark, Jamshedpur FC scored the opener with a brilliant bit of play. Ritwik Das sent a tricky pass into the box from the wings towards Crivellaro who beat the defence with a clever dribble. Rafael crossed the ball to the far post where Boris tapped it in to take his side to the lead. 

    Right before the first half came to a close, Jamshedpur extended their lead Ritwik Das from the wings laid down a brilliant through ball into the box for Boris who slammed it into the back of the net. 

    With a cushion of a lead, a confident Men of Steel side put an end to the first period of the game. 

    Jamshedpur FC beat ATK Mohun Bagan 3-0 in Hero Super Cup 2023

    The Mariners’ went out on an attacking spree in order to make their way back into the game but the Men of Steel defence was compact enough to deny them every chance to score. 

    The game got heated in the second half as players of both sides clashed with intensity. The referee’s book saw multiple bookings and rash tackles were seen on both halves. 

    Both sides made some crucial changes to their squad and Jamshepdur FC ‘s substitutions made the impact in the final moments. A shot from the edge of the box by Ishan Pandita was spilled by the ATK Mohun Bagan’s custodian. The loose ball was poked in by Harry Sawyer to seal the deal for his side. 

    The two squads put up another intense encounter which saw Jamshedpur FC walking away victorious with another dominant performance. With this win, the Men of Steel inched closer to the semi-finals of the Hero Super Cup. 

    Jamshedpur FC will play Gokulam Kerala FC next on 18th April, 2023 at 5 PM.

    Hero Super Cup 2023: Jamshedpur FC beat defending champions FC Goa 5-3

    The Men of Steel kicked off their Hero Super Cup campaign on a positive note with a stunning victory over FC Goa. An 8-goal thriller saw Jamshedpur FC walk away with the three points with a full-time score of 3-5 at the EMS Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode.

    FC Goa found the early lead when they captialised on a Jamshedpur FC error. FC Goa’s winger, Noah Sadaoui was quick to slip it past TP Rehenesh to give his side the advantage.

    Jamshedpur were quick to respond as Rafael Crivellaro sent in a curling corner kick into the box which was nodded in by Pratik Chaudari to bring his side back into the game.

    Just 15 minutes later, the visitors extended their lead. A freekick right outside the box was smoothly struck by Crivellaro into the side netting which the FC Goa custodian was unable to get his hands to.

    Right before the half-time whistle, the Men of Steel slotted in their third as a powerful strike from Pronay Halder took a deflection off Fares Arnaout and crashed into the goal.

    Just minutes into the second half, the Men of Steel netted another goal through a quick freekick taken by Eli Sabia which was collected by Ritwik Das and supplied into the box. A perfectly positioned Rafael Crivellaro placed the ball into the back of the net to score his second of the night.

    The defending champions did not back down as they came through with two goals of their own in quick succession as headed goals from FC Goa’s Iker Guarrotxena and Noah Sadaoui brought back hope to the Goan side.

    In the final minutes of the game, Harry Sawyer sealed the deal for the Men of Steel as a saved attempt from the FC Goa custodian deflected off the Aussie forward into the back of the net.An exhilarating clash between the two sides ended in Jamshedpur FC’s favour as they beat FC Goa for the first time in the Hero Super Cup and moved to the second position in Group C. Jamshedpur FC will be facing table toppers, ATK Mohun Bagan next on 14th April, 2023.

    Jamshedpur FC head coach Aidy Boothroyd highlights “resilience” ahead of Hero Super Cup clash against FC Goa

    Jamshedpur FC head coach Aidy Boothroyd has pointed out the need to stay resilient ahead of the club’s Hero Super Cup opener on Monday. The Men of Steel will be commencing their Hero Super Cup 2023 campaign on the 10th of April, 2023 against defending champions FC Goa. 

    “We’re very excited about playing in the tournament. I think there’s some really good teams in there and we all pretty much know each other, our ins and outs and strengths and weaknesses. It’s a very tough group and we’re really looking forward to competing in it,” said Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Aidy Boothroyd when asked about leading the side into his first Hero Super Cup.

    After a tough outing against Mumbai City FC in the Hero Club Playoffs, the Men of Steel now shift their focus on the ongoing Hero Super Cup. When asked about his thoughts on the result of the qualifying game against the Islanders, Aidy highlighted the importance of bouncing back. 

    “Disappointed to lose the playoff against Mumbai but we can’t sulk, we’ve got to be resilient and strong. Football can slap you in the face and lift you up high as well.”

    The Men of Steel will be competing in the Hero Super Cup for the third time.

    “We’re excited, we didn’t want the season to end and we’re excited to play in this tournament with some very good teams so we’ll be trying to get a positive result and get out of the group and go forward.”

    A total of 16 teams, 11 teams from the Hero ISL along with 5 teams from the I-League will be divided into 4 groups. The tournament is currently being played in two locations across Kerala. The Men of Steel will be fighting for a spot in the qualification stages against teams like recently crowned Hero ISL Champions, ATK Mohun Bagan, defending Hero Super Cup champions, FC Goa and former I-League champions, Gokulam Kerala FC.

    To conclude the pre-match press conference, Aidy shared his thoughts on competing in Group C amongst some of the best squads in India currently, “Every opponent we face at this level is a difficult opponent. Tomorrow we start against Goa, and we know it’s going to be difficult. Tactically too, lots of things could be changing because of the weather and we’ll have to adapt.

    “And for our other opponents, we know the advantage at home Gokulam will have. We’ve played ATK twice and we know them and their strengths. I think it’ll be a very exciting tournament for the neutral with a lot of twists and turns because this is a very difficult group to get out of.” 

    Jamshedpur FC will kick off their Hero Super Cup 2023 against the Gaurs at the EMS Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode tomorrow at 8:30 PM.
