From T-ara’s Stage to the Wedding Aisle — Former K-Pop Idol Ryu Hwayoung Announces September 2026 Marriage

In a heartfelt surprise that has fans showering her with love and well-wishes, actress and former K-pop idol Ryu Hwayoung has officially announced she is getting married. And honestly? The way she shared the news is just as beautiful as the news itself.

Ryu Hwayoung’s Wedding — Overview

The Announcement That Melted Everyone’s Hearts

On April 1, a source familiar with the couple shared that Ryu Hwayoung and her fiancé, a businessman three years her senior, had recently decided to marry, with the wedding planned as a private ceremony attended only by family members and close acquaintances.

Ryu Hwayoung then took to Instagram personally to confirm the news with a message that was equal parts poetic and heartfelt — announcing September 12, 2026 as the date she and her partner will officially begin their life together. The post described their bond as going beyond love, choosing to become everything to each other. It’s the kind of announcement that makes you genuinely happy for someone you’ve never met.

From K-Pop Idol to Beloved Actress — Ryu Hwayoung’s Journey

Ryu Hwayoung debuted as a new member of the girl group T-ara in 2010, left the group in 2012, and transitioned into acting — going on to appear in dramas including “Ex-Girlfriends’ Club,” “Come Back Alive,” “My Father Is Strange,” and “MAD DOG,” as well as the film “Exist Within.”

Her pivot from idol to actress was anything but easy, but she built a career on her own terms — and now she’s stepping into this new chapter with the same quiet confidence that has always defined her.
