Sunil Chhetri will be felicitated ahead of his 150th appearance for the Indian national team when they play Afghanistan in Guwahati on March 26. The Blue Tigers returned from Saudi Arabia having played a 0-0 draw against Afghanistan, and will hope to earn all three points with a win, backed by their home crowd. The victory will be crucial in helping them gain an advantage in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.
The Indian captain holds a record of scoring in his 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th and 125th appearance for the national team. And fans will be hoping that he extends this incredible record on Tuesday, so that the Blue Tigers can make amends for their poor finishing in Saudi.
