Comeback day is bittersweet for Stray Kids fans. As the group releases their new mini album THIS & THAT, JYP Entertainment has confirmed that member Seungmin will sit out several key promotional stops while continuing his recovery from an ongoing ankle injury.
What JYP Entertainment Announced
On August 7 KST, the agency confirmed Seungmin won’t join the live broadcasts of Music Bank (August 7) or Music Core (August 8), and will also skip the Stationhead listening parties on both days along with the Melon Music Wave event. He will, however, still take part in pre-recordings for both music shows and the Music Core mini fan meeting — meaning fans will still see him in some capacity, just not everywhere.
Stray Kids’ Seungmin: Overview
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Album | THIS & THAT |
| Release | August 7, 2026, 1 p.m. KST |
| Skipping | Music Bank & Music Core live broadcasts, Stationhead parties, Melon Music Wave |
| Still Attending | Both pre-recordings, Music Core fan meeting |
| Reason | Ongoing rehabilitation for left ankle stress fracture |
| First Announced | March 2026 |
The Backstory
Stray Kids fans have been tracking Seungmin’s recovery for months. JYP Entertainment first revealed a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle back in March, later confirming the diagnosis. Since then, his participation in group activities has been adjusted repeatedly based on doctors’ guidance, with the agency stressing that rehabilitation remains essential for a full recovery.
The Agency’s Message to Fans
JYP Entertainment’s statement struck a careful balance — acknowledging Seungmin’s own desire to be more involved while explaining that medical advice ultimately shaped the decision. The agency apologized directly to fans hoping to see him at the live stages, reaffirming that his health remains the top priority as promotions continue.
