The trailer for the film “Srikanth,” featuring Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, was revealed on 9th April, Tuesday. T-Series shared the over three-minute-long clip on its YouTube channel. Rajkummar will portray the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla in this upcoming biopic.

In the “Srikanth” trailer, Rajkummar’s character, along with other students, discusses their aspirations in life. His character dreams of becoming India’s first visually impaired President. The trailer also offers glimpses of his childhood and the obstacles he faces along the way.
Jyotika and Alaya F make appearances in the trailer as well. Following his completion of the 12th board exams, Rajkummar’s character, Srikanth, secures admission in the arts stream due to his visual impairment, facing obstacles in pursuing science. Together with his teacher, Jyotika, Srikanth initiates a battle against the education system. The trailer proceeds to illustrate his admission to four prestigious universities worldwide.
Subsequently, Srikanth establishes his startup, providing employment opportunities for other visually impaired individuals. Rajkummar adeptly embodies the character of Srikanth Bolla in the trailer, while Alaya F also features in a role.
“Srikanth” is a film produced by T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, and written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit. The movie is set to hit theaters on May 10th.

Born visually impaired in 1992 near Hyderabad, his life journey is truly inspiring. After returning to India, Srikanth dedicated himself to creating job prospects for people with disabilities. The upcoming film featuring Rajkummar Rao aims to pay tribute to his extraordinary path.
From humble beginnings to international acclaim, Srikanth’s journey is remarkable. Born in 1991, his early days were marked by adversity. Relatives suggested his parents abandon him due to his visual impairment, and classmates treated him with disdain.
However, Srikanth refused to be defined by his challenges. Emerging from an agricultural family in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, he pursued education relentlessly. His determination led him to become the first visually impaired international graduate from MIT in the US.
Srikanth’s academic path was fraught with obstacles. Despite excelling in his studies and topping his class with a remarkable 98 percent in his XII board exams, he faced discrimination when denied admission to coaching institutes for the Indian Institute of Technology due to his blindness.
Undeterred, Srikanth forged his own path. He ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Bollant Industries in 2012. With the support of Ratan Tata, the company produces areca-based products and provides employment opportunities for hundreds of individuals with disabilities.
In addition to his business endeavors, Srikanth is deeply committed to social causes. He co-founded the Samanvai Center for Children with Multiple Disabilities in 2011, offering educational and vocational support. He also serves as the director of Surge Impact Foundation, which aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Srikanth’s dedication to societal progress is evident in his involvement with Lead India 2020, initiated by former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. As a youth leader and member of this movement, Srikanth strives to contribute to India’s development and upliftment.
