Tottenham are reportedly still on the verge of agreeing on a new contract with Son Heung-min and have been in negotiations with the Korean for the better part of the season. The player has emerged as one of the most important figures on the pitch for the London club, with 22 goal contributions in the league for Spurs.

He has formed a formidable partnership with Harry Kane and the pair has been an absolute revelation under Jose Mourinho, with both forwards assisting each other’s goals numerous times throughout the season. While Tottenham are not at the top of the league anymore, Spurs are still confident that they will talk things out with their player and convince him to extend.

The same certainty possibly does not extend to their single best player over the last few years, Harry Kane. The England captain has been absolutely outstanding as an individual performer this season, being both the top scorer and the highest assist provider so far this season, amassing 32 goal contributions in 28 games played.

There have been rumours in recent days which say that Kane is planning on moving on from Spurs for good in the summer. The main reason being the severe drought of silverware, and at 28, a striker of the calibre of Kane does not have a lot of time left to have a career decorated with trophies to supplement his talent on the pitch.

While he has three years left on his contract, the Spurs will be determined to keep a hold on him for the future, but Kane could try and force his way out especially if Champions League football does not come through next season.
