Spurs vs MK Dons Match Preview, Prediction, Timings, Lineups, Teams, and How to Watch

A new era begins in North London as Tottenham Hotspur kick off pre-season under Roberto De Zerbi, welcoming League Two outfit MK Dons for a low-key but significant first run-out. After two nervy 17th-placed finishes, this quiet training-ground friendly marks the first step of Spurs’ summer rebuild.

Spurs vs MK Dons: Match Details

Preview

Spurs survived a nervy relegation scare on the final day last season, and the club has responded with a serious summer rebuild — smashing their transfer record for Mateus Fernandes and closing in on a deal for Sandro Tonali. De Zerbi has also reinforced the backline with Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. This behind-closed-doors clash is simply about shaking off the rust before a bigger pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia.

MK Dons arrive with a head start on fitness, having already played several warm-up games under Paul Warne, fresh off a promotion-securing second-place finish in League Two.

Predicted Lineups

Tottenham (possible XI): Austin; Adewole, Dorrington, Phillips, Souza; Gray, Gallagher; Donley, Maddison, Moore; Lankshear

MK Dons (possible XI): MacGillivray; Ekpiteta, Nelson, Goode; Jones, Wintle, Gilbey, Barlaser, Bramall; Hepburn-Murphy, Mendez-Laing

Key absentees for Spurs include Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, and Dejan Kulusevski (all recovering from injury), while several World Cup finalists are on rest.

Prediction

Expect a much-changed Spurs side short on fitness against a sharper MK Dons unit. A tight, entertaining 1-1 draw looks the likely outcome.
