According to a recent report, the debut smartphone from CMF by Nothing, the sub-brand of the UK-based startup led by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, is seemingly gearing up for its launch. A new device with a previously unseen model number has appeared on two regulatory websites, indicating an impending launch. They are announcing that CMF by Nothing has previously taken the wraps off wireless audio products, a charger, and a fitness tracker.

As a result, it is speculated that the forthcoming smartphone will be relatively inexpensive like the newly unveiled Nothing Phone 2a. Only today did Android Headlines notice a new device with the model number A015 on an unspecified regulatory website. There’s even speculation that this device is the long-rumored Nothing Phone 3, which is expected to premiere soon. According to earlier reports, the Phone 3 is poised to feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, departing from the use of flagship-grade processors.

Additionally, 91Mobiles reported having uncovered a listing of a device with an identical A015 model number, suggesting the possibility of an India launch. The BIS listing, however, specifies that the device belongs to a sub-brand CMF by Nothing, as confirmed by Gadgets 360.

The model number indicates that the upcoming smartphone might not be a direct successor to the Nothing Phone 2. As per the product launch, the previous two models, Nothing Phone and Nothing Phone 2 were presented with model numbers A063 and A065, respectively. In contrast, the A142 model number is assigned to Nothing Phone 2a, a less expensive version of the former.

It’s conceivable that an affordable smartphone from the Nothing sub-brand could vie with devices priced under ₹20,000 in India. Presently, the Phone 2a, Nothing’s most budget-friendly handset, starts at ₹23,999 in India, while the Nothing Phone 2 debuted last year with a price tag of ₹44,999. Expectations are set for more details about the anticipated smartphone from CMF by Nothing to surface in the coming months.
