Team News & Injuries

Sporting CP head into the final with four notable absentees. Defender Zeno Debast is sidelined with a leg injury, while João Simões (broken foot), Iván Fresneda (muscle), and Fotis Ioannidis (knee) are all doubtful. Despite these concerns, Sporting’s squad depth is in a different league entirely — and their recent form reflects that, with wins of 3–0 over Gil Vicente and a stunning 5–1 demolition of Vitória de Guimarães.

Torreense, amazingly, arrive with no injury concerns at all. Their squad has been in remarkable form — winning four of their last five games including a 4–0 thrashing of Vizela and a 3–2 victory over Penafiel. Manager and players will be riding the wave of this incredible cup run, knowing they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Our Prediction: Sporting CP 3–0 Torreense

Torreense’s cup run has been magical, but the class, depth, and firepower of Sporting CP — spearheaded by Viktor Gyokeres — is simply too much at this level. The Lions lift the Taça de Portugal in front of a packed Estádio Nacional. Torreense, however, have already won the hearts of an entire nation.
