The Story So Far
Spooky in Love is a remake of the 2011 film “Spellbound,” reimagined as a chaotic occult romance about a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who’s terrified of them. In the previous episode, Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin) and Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong) agreed to team up to resolve the grudge of a ghost from the Joseon era, deepening their unlikely partnership.
What’s Coming Next
According to newly released stills, the upcoming episode ramps up the romantic tension considerably. While carrying out their secret investigation together, Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Gang Wook find themselves in an unplanned, awkward encounter — she’s with Kang Min Hwan (Ong Seong Wu), and he’s with Im Seo Hyun (Im Chae Young). Both try to play it cool in front of their respective romantic interests, but neither can fully hide their jealousy at seeing the other with someone else.
This kind of layered love-quadrangle tension is a familiar staple of Korean romance dramas, often used to build emotional stakes before a central couple’s true feelings come to light — a storytelling device closely tied to the broader conventions of the romantic comedy genre.
Where to Watch
The next episode of Spooky in Love airs on August 2 at 9:10 PM KST on tvN. In the meantime, fans can revisit Park Eun Bin in Do You Like Brahms? and Yang Se Jong in Thirty But Seventeen, both streaming on Viki.
