Tom Holland’s web-slinger is already climbing box office walls — and he hasn’t even hit theatres yet. As of 3 PM on July 22, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has sold roughly 1.55 lakh tickets across India’s top two multiplex chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for its opening day. With over a week still left before release, that’s a serious head start.
Spider-Man Brand New Day: Ticket Sales Snapshot
| Chain | Tickets Sold | Share |
|---|---|---|
| PVR Inox | ~1.28 lakh | Majority chunk |
| Cinepolis | ~27,000 | Remainder |
| Total | ~1.55 lakh | Opening day (national chains) |
What This Means for Opening Day
Trade estimates now peg Brand New Day’s opening day collection between Rs. 40 crore and Rs. 48 crore nett. And there’s room to run — with 8 days still on the clock, the film is being tracked to cross 5 lakh tickets in national chains by release day. For context, Spider-Man: No Way Home sold 550K tickets back in 2021 and went on to gross Rs. 265 crore in India, despite releasing during a shaky post-COVID market with heavy local competition. Brand New Day, by comparison, is landing in a much healthier theatrical climate.
Riding Hollywood’s Hot Streak
2026 has been unusually kind to Hollywood at the Indian box office, with several surprise hits defying expectations. Spider-Man is expected to add to that momentum, and early bookings suggest audiences are already buzzing for Peter Parker’s next chapter.
