Spider-Man: Brand New Day Swings Past Rs 400 Crore in India — Here’s How Fast

Tom Holland’s web-slinger just pulled off a rare feat at the Indian box office. Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed the Rs 400 crore mark in just 9 days, becoming only the third Hollywood film ever to do so in the country.

How Much Has the Film Earned?

On its second Friday, the film collected Rs 17 crore gross (Rs 14 crore nett), a 5-10% spike over the previous day. That pushed its total gross past Rs 405 crore, with the real gross (including 3D collections) sitting at approximately Rs 445 crore.

Why the Second Weekend Matters

Hollywood films typically see weekday dips followed by weekend surges, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is following that exact pattern. After softer weekday numbers in its first week, the film is expected to gross over Rs 75 crore — potentially even Rs 80 crore — across its second weekend. That surge puts it on track to overtake Avengers: Endgame, and possibly even Avatar: The Way of Water, to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film ever released in India, likely by Sunday or Monday.

The Bigger Picture

This isn’t just a strong India run — the film is also setting global records, becoming the fastest movie to enter the USD 500 million club in North America while pulling in roughly USD 1.31 billion worldwide in its opening week. With numbers like these, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of the biggest theatrical events of the year for the Marvel character, whose comic-book origins trace back to Spider-Man‘s 1962 debut.
