Spider-Man 2 Set to Swing onto PC on January 30, 2025: Enhanced Features and Development Insights Revealed

Spider-Man 2 will be released for the PC on January 30, 2025, and joins a growing list of PlayStation-exclusive games making their way to Steam and Epic Games Store. The porting of the Spider-Man titles will be done by Nixxes Software, who also has credit for developing some earlier titles.

The announcement came from NYCC 2024 which revealed the arrival of the sequel on Steam for Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This comes as a step in the right direction with more sought-after exclusives such as God of War already making their way to the PC platform.

Spider-Man 2 Coming on PC soon

In a notable update, Insomniac has dashed hopes for the much-anticipated Venom DLC, stating that there is “no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” effectively putting to rest speculation that has persisted since last year.

The story of Spider-Man 2 continues after Miles Morales, introducing iconic villains such as Venom and Kraven the Hunter. In our review, we noted that the sequel is “both blessed and cursed,” as it “refines a successful formula of combat and web-swinging without making significant changes, keeping the gameplay comfortable and familiar while introducing enough new tweaks and abilities to enhance the experience.”

PlayStation’s PC launches have had their share of ups and downs, with fans voicing concerns over the controversial requirements for PlayStation Network accounts. God of War Ragnarök, the most recent PC release, also faced mixed reviews regarding this feature.

Nixxes Community Manager Julian Huijbregts expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Working with Insomniac and Marvel Games to bring Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to a new audience on PC has been a fantastic experience. We look forward to continuing this partnership and delivering Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, complete with enhanced features like improved ray-tracing options to optimize performance across various setups. More details on features and recommended specifications will be shared closer to launch.”

The update was shared by Insomniac during an NYCC 2024 panel this past weekend. In more news, Wizards of the Coast revealed a major Magic: The Gathering partnership with Marvel, and Blumhouse teased its first look at Wolf Man.
