Sony announces Persona 5 Strikers, Dirt 5, and Deep Rock Galactic as the PlayStation Plus games for January 2022

These three games, which were announced on PlayStation. The blog will be accessible from Tuesday, January 4 until Tuesday, February 1, and are the first PlayStation Plus games of the year.

Persona 5 Strikers is a spin-off for the PlayStation 4 that stars Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves and follows up a few months after the original game’s conclusion (sorry, Persona 5 Royal fans!). Instead of turn-based combat, Persona 5 Strikers focuses on combo-driven hacking and slashing, which is akin to, but not identical to, a Musou game.

“The main story is every bit the straight sequel to Persona 5 that it seems, making this summer road trip with the Phantom Thieves vital for fans of the original (and probably quite perplexing for anyone who hasn’t played it,” we said in our Persona 5 Strikers review.

The second game on the list is Dirt 5, which brings driving lovers all over the world for an “amplified off-road racing experience.” Dirt 5 includes a full career mode, four-player split-screen, online multiplayer, a Playgrounds creator mode, and more. It also includes a full career mode, four-player split-screen, online multiplayer, a Playgrounds creator mode, and more.

“It represents a complete about-face for the main Dirt series, shedding virtually all semblance of simulation in favor of an unabashed, arcade-inspired racing experience that draws from just about every influence you can name except its direct predecessor.”

Deep Rock Galactic, a 1-4 person co-op FPS for PS4 and PS5, completes the PlayStation Plus trio for January 2022, and boasts “badass space Dwarves, 100 percent destructible terrain, procedurally-generated caves, and unending waves of alien enemies.”

Many claim that Deep Rock Galactic is best in that it “is the best four-player co-op game there is. This game is a winner because of exciting gameplay, fantastic missions, and a plethora of upgrades.”

While you wait for these titles, remember that you have until January 3 to redeem the PlayStation Plus games released in December 2021: Godfall: Challenger Edition, LEGO DC Super-Villains, Mortal Shell, The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Standard Edition, and Until You Fall.
