However, the games released under the PlayStation Studios brand are not necessarily developed by them. Some of the games are developed by other studios, while Sony owns the rights. As stated by Eric Lempel, the head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, it doesn’t mean that we outright own the developer, but it just means we brought it up as a first-party. In a lot of cases, we don’t own the developer.”

He further stated “We think this is a good way to let consumers know that, if they see it, then the quality games they’ve come to expect from us are here. And this brand will exist for well-known existing franchises, as well as brand new franchises that we have yet to explore.”

Some of the other famous games also releasing or have been released for PS5 are MXGP 2020, Hitman 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Far Cry 6.

Although some of the games may not be developed by Sony, the quality of these games hasn’t been compromised; for example, Returnal, a PlayStation Studios game, was developed by a third-party developer received a lot of appreciation after its release.

Some of these games released by Sony are not necessarily bounded just to PS5; they are also available for PC, Xbox and PS4. Sony has expressed its desire to release more titles available for PCs as well.

With 7.8 million PS5 consoles already sold, it’s exhilarating to see Sony take such initiative and developing 25 titles. Users are looking forward to the PS5 experience, and worth their money.
