Stand at the edge of the collapsed section (the part that drops down) until a yellow “Take Photo” prompt appears. Hit the interaction button, and boom—objective one complete. The prompt can be finicky, so position yourself right at the broken edge near the wrecked vehicles.

Step 2: Journey to Broken Earth POI

Now comes the trek. Travel northeast through Olive Grove toward Broken Earth. Fair warning: Olive Grove is crawling with raiders hunting for resources, so stay alert. This area sees heavy traffic, making it prime ambush territory.

Once you reach Broken Earth, your quest updates to “follow the trail of destruction.” Don’t overthink this—you don’t need to trace every debris piece.

Step 3: Investigate the Giant ARC Machine

Continue northeast of Broken Earth until you spot a colossal destroyed ARC machine. It’s impossible to miss—this mechanical titan’s wreckage dominates the landscape, located directly east of Maintenance Bunker and southwest of Ridgeline.

Approach the downed machine and look for the yellow interaction prompt at its base. Investigate it, and congratulations—quest complete! You can extract now or continue looting. Your rewards arrive whether you make it out alive or not.

Pro Tips for Success

  • Use a free loadout: This quest has minimal combat requirements, so don’t risk expensive gear
  • Complete both steps in one run: You can knock out the entire quest without extracting between objectives
  • Watch for other players: Many raiders are doing the same quest, especially near Highway Collapse
  • Time your run wisely: Avoid Night Raids unless you enjoy extra challenge

FAQs

Do I need binoculars or a camera item to take the photo in Reduced to Rubble?

No equipment needed! The “Take Photo” interaction is built into the quest. When you reach the Collapsed Highway location, a yellow prompt automatically appears. Just press the interaction button—Shani provides binoculars as a quest reward, but they’re not required for the photography objective.

Can I complete Reduced to Rubble during a Night Raid?

Yes, but it’s not recommended for newer players. Night Raids significantly increase ARC presence and environmental hazards. Since this quest doesn’t require extraction for completion and involves traveling through the high-traffic Olive Grove area, daylight runs offer better survival odds while learning the Blue Gate map layout.
