Highlights from Episodes 1-2

From Da-rim’s heartbreak over being excluded from her sister’s wedding, to the jaw-dropping cliff rescue, every scene delivers emotional punches and comedic finesse. Here’s what made these episodes sparkle:

• Da-rim’s encounter with her ex-schoolmate (and ex-boyfriend Kim Jeong-ghawn) spurs her to spin a fake boyfriend tale—enter Ji-hyeok and a string of misunderstandings.
• The cliffside drama—where Da-rim mistakes Ji-hyeok’s solitude for suicidal intent—leads to a hospital trip and mounting bills, intensifying their love-hate dynamic.
• The breakfast scene: Da-rim and Ji-hyeok are thrust into a fake relationship in front of Da-rim’s humiliating ex. Both exploit the confusion for their own agendas, with Ji-hyeok angling to land a major developer for his company.
• At the party, Da-rim’s dazzling transformation and impulsive kiss leave her ex reeling, while Ji-hyeok starts to see her in a new light. Their first real kiss is sweetly awkward and beautifully staged.
• In Episode 2, Da-rim and Ji-hyeok’s staged romance escalates under the scrutiny of rivals and family. Despite external pressure and twists—including Da-rim’s mother’s medical emergency—the wild ride of mistaken identity and real feelings is only just beginning.

Episodes air Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 pm KST on SBS TV and stream on Netflix, making it easy to catch up anytime.

Why Is “Dynamite Kiss” So Relatable?

Beyond the romance and corporate drama, the series shines for its handling of personal setbacks—like Da-rim’s interview fails, isolation, and tough family moments. Her resourcefulness, vulnerability, and ethics around “pretending” speak to anyone navigating chaotic twenty-something life. Ji-hyeok’s internal battle with family loyalty and corporate intrigue also adds realism to the melodrama.
