SK-Hynix announce Platinum P41 – New Gen 4.0 SSD available in Q1 2022

SK Hynix have announced their first Gen 4.0 SSD with a 176-NAND layer, the Platinum P41. Much like the existing Platinum SSDs, it is set to cater to gamers and content creators by providing top performance and endurance.

The P41 will not be replacing the existing P31 line-up or the Gold S31 series but will be available on the market with them. SK Hynix are the world’s second-largest memory maker and will add to their industry-grade catalogue with the new P41, at CES 2022.

Technical details of the new SK Hynix P41

Here are the key technical details of the new Gen 4.0 SSD:

  • Form factor and interface: M.2 2280, PCIe NVMe Gen 4.0, up to 4 lanes
  • Sequential read/write speed: up to 7,000 MB/s and 6,500 MB/s
  • Random read/write speed: up to 1,400K IOPS and 1,300K IOPS
  • TBW: up to 1,200 TBW

The Platinum P41 will be available later this year, within the first quarter. It will be available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB models upon release. They will all consist of an MTBF of 1,500,000 hours. Consumers will be entitled to a warranty of 5 years when they receive the new SSD.
