If you are still playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam, then you don’t belong to the 79 percent of players who have already abandoned the game since its launch. Comparing the decline, it’s three times faster than the previous title of CD Projekt, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

After three delays and years of hype, it was not as surprised to see Cyberpunk 2077 had gained millions of concurrent Steam players on the launch day. This number beats the previous records of a single-player experience, Fallout 4.

But the recent one of CD Projekt has been unable to keep those impressive figures. According to the report of GitHyp, the player count of the game has been dropped very quickly to around 225,000 over the weekend.

This site also reports that most of the single-player games do lose near about the same number of players in one month after the launch, but there is an exception for the open-world titles. For example, The Witcher 3 was able to keep its half of the player base for four weeks after the launch and it took nearly three months to lose 79% of players.

In 2019, the Netflix series helps to gather more new players in The Witcher 3 than the game’s launch. Still, after one year, the game hasn’t lost 79% of its new players.

The upcoming free DLCs could give a boost to the Steam player count of Cyberpunk 2077. It is expected to come in early 2021, but the scenario suggests that it could delay due to other issues of the game has occurred.
