Fresh off the back of Filing for Love‘s record-breaking finale, Shin Hae Sun isn’t taking a breath. SBS has just announced her next project, and the role she’s stepping into could be her most powerful yet.
Dash — Key Details
On June 1, SBS announced the production of the new series and Shin Hae Sun’s casting during its drama media day event “SBS DRAMA: NEXT EPISODE” in Seoul. \
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Drama Title | Dash (literal title) |
| Lead Actress | Shin Hae Sun |
| Character Name | Min Hwa Young |
| Genre | Mystery Suspense Romance |
| Network | SBS |
| Expected Premiere | 2027 |
| Role | Head Prosecutor, Special Investigation Division 1 |
What Is Dash About?
Dash is a mystery suspense romance drama that follows Min Hwa Young, a prosecutor determined to uphold justice with her own hands, as she relentlessly pursues the truth surrounding her husband, who suddenly becomes a murder suspect.
Shin Hae Sun’s character, Min Hwa Young, is the head prosecutor of the Special Investigation Division 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Driven by a long-standing desire to uncover the truth behind her mother’s mysterious death, she rises to one of prosecution’s most powerful positions through sheer talent and determination. However, when her husband becomes a murder suspect, she finds herself torn between love and the pursuit of truth.
It’s the kind of layered, morally complex female lead that K-drama fans have been hungry for — a woman who has fought her entire career for justice, suddenly faced with the most personal betrayal imaginable. The South Korean legal drama genre has long captivated audiences worldwide, and Dash looks set to push those boundaries even further with its deeply emotional stakes.
Why the Production Team Had Only One Name in Mind
The casting decision came from conviction, not a shortlist. The production team stated, “Shin Hae Sun was the only actress who could fully portray Min Hwa Young’s desperate and harrowing journey as she fights to uncover the truth, even at the cost of her own destruction.”
They also added a playful note about what viewers can expect: “We hope viewers will look forward to and show lots of interest in this project, which will boldly ‘dash’ into their hearts as well.”
Given that Shin Hae Sun just closed Filing for Love with a career-best 9.7% nationwide rating — its highest-ever episode — the confidence the team has in her is clearly well-founded.
