Sheikh Jassim submits third bid for 100% Manchester United takeover

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has submitted the third bid for complete ownership of Manchester United. The QIB chairman has confirmed that his bid is completely debt-free, and is near the £5 billion asking price that the Glazers are holding out for.

While it was speculated that the Premier League would block the takeover of the club by Qatar due to their human rights records, it now appears that it would be allowed. And Sheikh Jassim has submitted his third bid to be considered for ownership as well.

Sheikh Jassim submits third Manchester United bid

The QIB chairman’s ambition to takeover the club reflects not only his own ambition, but also that of Qatar itself. The plan for the country is to turn into a sporting powerhouse in the coming years. Significant efforts are being made to host competitions in the coming years.

Moreover, the other course of action is to acquire a Premier League club – which is likely to be through Sheikh Jassim given that he is a member of the royal family. His bid promised a bright future for the club with investments in the stadium, training centre and signings among the points  mentioned.

Qatar’s bid for the club is rivalled by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain and the owner of Ineos. Both parties are now awaiting a decision from the Glazers about how the takeover process will proceed.
